Biweekly Haiku & Short Poem Contest VIII
Rules and Entry Information
1.) Post here saying that you want to enter and you’ll be accepted. The cap for entries is slated at twenty contestants per round, and signups will end as soon as that number has been met, the deadline for entries has passed, or the thread sits for several days without any new entries (during which private submissions may be accepted via PM to me).
2.) Participation simply requires entrants to write a haiku (a poem with the alternating “Five-Seven-Five Syllables” per line format) or a similar-style short poem and post it here as an entry, though submitting them via PM or Profile Message to me is fine too. All poems are due by the second Thursday after this thread has been revealed, and voting begins once the deadline has passed or all entries are made. Submissions are final, but if I feel a poem should be revised slightly, I’ll do it with the writer’s consent.
3.) Each poem for the contest must follow the selected theme for the competition. Due to artist’s having different interpretations of ideas, no haiku will be disqualified for writing about divergent topics so long as the theme is tied in somehow (if it isn’t, then you will be disqualified for the duration of this round). This contest’s theme is Food or Thanksgiving (if you celebrate the latter).
4.) Voting will run for three days and be open to all members of PokéBeach. Each person will be allowed three votes for their favorites. All participants are expected but not required to vote as well; however, you are not allowed to vote for your own (if I catch you doing so, you’ll be docked a point).
