Has anyone received a damaged card from Ebay?

RE: Has anyone received a card damaged from ebay?

Now he says he will refund my money. However he still hasn't replied back with his address to send it back. I agree he will get a neutral and nothing more.

I had a seller once stall for nearly a month and a half before eBay stepped in and gave me a full refund. Not saying this guy is stalling, but it is a possibility. Have you opened a case with eBay at all? Of course, if you still have the package, it should have his return address on it.

Yes he is stalling for sure. I did open a case through ebay and that's part of the reason he is mad.
I want to make sure I get the refund before I send the card back. We will see.

That isn't a reasonable expectation; eBay will decide that you send the card back (with delivery confirmation as proof of shipment) prior to your refund. Occasionally sellers are kind enough to provide a refund beforehand but most are more cautious than that. All you have to do is send the card with delivery confirmation (not the internal USPS tracking) and you are good to go.

Dont argue with him anymore dont inform him of negative feedback or anything. He'll say you're using feedback extortion. You asked nicely to refund a damaged item and he refused. You can just go ahead and file a claim.

What? The seller already sent fezwhy a message saying he'd give a full return for return of the card -- he never refused.

At worst, the seller deserves a neutral rating for the issue; he's clearly willing to work with fezwhy to find a solution ("You can send it back for a full refund.") so a negative feedback isn't warranted.

...! ...I must have been thinking about a different case. I could have sworn I was reading something among the lines "The card I sent was perfectly fine. You're clearly trying to scam me and damaged the card in order to get a free card. It does not qualify for a refund and I have sent every card like this with no issue."

Sorry if I'm mistaken.

Your sarcasm is not lost on me, but it seems you are in fact mistaken. ;) I just don't see why you can be so sure the seller is refusing a refund, when...

I see the bend, but that is not enough to warrant a full refund. If you want a partial refund, I can abide that for that damage. You can send it back for a full refund.

...the seller has made it quite clear he would be willing to give fezwhy a refund, provided the card is returned. The seller is certainly within his rights to withhold a full refund until he gets the card back. Sure, he's [unfortunately] not jumping the gun to offer a refund, but the offer was made. It seems like you're forgetting that point.

Regardless, opening an eBay case was the correct thing to do. Have you heard back from the seller yet, fezwhy?

RE: Has anyone received a card damaged from ebay?

Make sure the Seller pays shipping on sending it back for the refund, and make sure you have it in a message to him that you sent it back so you have a time and date, just in case you send the card and get no refund.

No... no sarcasm... just utter humiliation at my illiteracy... and even more embarrassed with this post... and I'm NOT being sarcastic right now... when I'm sarcastic I make comments "Oh yeeeaaaaah... you're totally right about cause no one else would think of that!" or something smart alecky like that... which I don't do unless someone's being a jerk.

It was my first post here I was certain he said something like the seller refused a refund but it was a different thread with another user with a Charizard avatar that had a problem with a seller. By the time you replied as well as the member having this issue, my reaction was "oh so he DID offer a refund... could have sworn he refused... derp." ...which was my previous post you thought was sarcasm...

Jeez man did you have to sock it to me that bad? I just wanted to give the guy tips if he had that particular problem. Sellers who refuse refunds irritate me as I have had many personal experiences with it...

EDIT: Just a point to bring up... I have never gotten a refund for shipping in my cases... was I supposed to? Usually the seller is like "ugh... fine here's your refund. But I will not refund shipping charges as it has arrived to you and you are responsible for payment to ship it back".

RE: Has anyone received a card damaged from ebay?

In the case I had, the person that sold me the bummed card paid the shipping, refunding me everything that I paid.

My apologies, then! Sarcasm is hard to read over posts, and I mistakenly took yours as such...I feel bad now.

To answer your question, in the few cases where I've returned a card, I've paid for return shipping. I think it all depends on the seller, to be honest. On eBay, I believe it should be detailed under the "Shipping/Returns" section whether or not buyer pays return shipping (and I think that's usually the case). PokeChimpo must have gotten a very well-versed and wonderful seller.

RE: Has anyone received a card damaged from ebay?

Just looking at those pictures hurts me ;.;

But I don't buy from Ebay (mom won't let me even though I'm over 18 now..) but I did buy some cards from people from YouTube. They always use a toploader. I wouldn't even dare sending a common in just a sleeve, the buyer is paying for NM/M cards so I think the seller should make sure the cards will be delivered in that same state.

This makes me remember all the torn, bent and burned cards I've seen. Urgh, stupid memories /offtopic

RE: Has anyone received a card damaged from ebay?

Well I still don't have a refund and he isn't responding to any of my messages. I will give him a few more days before I just go through paypal and get my money back. My case will automatically be closed Dec 29th whether it's resolved or not.
Frustrated with this guy. All I want is a refund.

I would recommend giving eBay a call for their advice. Often times the representatives there can let you know about the verdict of the case before you even escalate it. At present I am not impressed with the sellers communication (or lack thereof). I am sure eBay would agree.

RE: Has anyone received a card damaged from ebay?

Final update. So he refuses to respond to any of my requests on when I will get the refund and I gave him 4 or 5 messages over a week. he said I would be refunded on the 9th. Never hear a word from him. I contacted ebay and received this response:

eBay ruled in your favor in your dispute case, and a full refund of $20.49 USD was sent to your PayPal account for your purchase from Alexander Williams. It may take 3-5 business days to receive the refund in your account. eBay will then consider the dispute closed. If you have any questions, please go to the eBay Resolution Center.

Let that be a lesson to myself and to anyone else that purchases anything on ebay. ALWAYS Check seller feedback. If there are negatives read what people are saying and why they received a negative. I could have avoided this whole mess by doing my own research and seeing that in the last 6 months 1 other person went through the same thing that I did.

I am just happy this whole mess is over with.

The sellers ID is: seperothjr I would suggest you all stay far away from him unless you want a damaged card in the mail.

RE: Has anyone received a card damaged from ebay?

I just bought a jumbo, and the seller shipped it internationally between 2 pieces of cardboard. So you know what all the screaming you heard was about.

RE: Has anyone received a card damaged from ebay?

I just got a card that was described as NM/M and it was heavily played at least. Scratches all over, whitening on the front and back and even a heavily bent corner *cries*. This of course didn't happen in the mail, but the photo's had been edited and the description wasn't right. I'm going to ask for a refund for sure, even though the card is really hard to find and I want it so badly >.<
