DPPt/HGSS Haxtower discussion

With the fifth generation looming, I've decided to try and obtain the coveted black trainers card.

This has led me to become immersed in the world of the Battle Tower, a place I paid little attention to previously.

The BT is often called the Haxtower because of the stats that the Pokemon have in there and the rediculous amount of luck these Pokemon have (Heracross surviving three turns with Focus Band and KOing your team with Close Combat, Three successive Sheer Colds from a Glaile).

There are a few strategies around for this horrible, horrible place, and I have built a team around one of the ones where I possessed most of the required Pokemon. Here is the team:

108 (Spiritomb) @ Choice Scarf
Pressure
Calm Nature

-Trick
-Grudge
-Protect
-Taunt

Reasonably secure strategy here. Basically, I trick the Scarf onto the opponant's Pokemon (The AI will NEVER switch out), then scout with Protect. Then, depending on the move they use, I wil either use Grudge or Taunt, to get them down to using Struggle. Then I bring out...

Paranoia (Scizor) @ Life Orb
Technician
Adamant Nature

-Swords Dance
-Substitute
-Roost
-Bullet Punch

Set up SD until I reach +6, rack up a sub, and maybe heal with roost if I have time. Then I proceed to rip everything up with Bullet Punch. The only things it can't OHKO that I've encountered are Heatran, Empoleon, and the odd Vaporeon and Slowbro. Scizor has a very dangerous weakness to fire (I almost lost one time when I got surprised by a Slowbro with Flamethrower), so, on the chance that he get's KO'd, I'm packing...

Chomp II (Garchomp) @ Choice Band
Sand Veil
Jolly Nature

-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Brick Break
-Fire Fang

This is the most vital part of the team, because when she comes out, she's usually the last one standing. Usually, I'll opt for Outrage, and I have swept entire teams that got a couple of lucky (read = Haxxy) KOs. I got my first run broken when it turned out that the last Pokemon on their team was a Bronzong. The moves provide excellent coverage, and She synergises well with Scizor.

So that's the team, and I was pleased with is, so I had a shot at the BT. I made it to 48 wins, and got smashed by Palmer. I Tricked his Heatran into Flash Cannon, then got KO'd and went to Scizor. I got one SD in, went for another, and got critted. I thought, 'Fair cop, Haxtower and all' and went to Garchomp. I couldn't use EQ, because of Cressilia, so I went for Brick Break, got it down to the Red.

I get another crit, and the streak is lost.

So, to conclude, I need help. Post your teams, critique each other, and offer advice.

PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT HACK. Do not suggest things like 'No Guard Ninjask with Sheer Cold' or 'Wondertomb'. Please.

There's 2 words I have to say to you and your Spiritomb.
Taunt Bait.
If someone at the Battle Tower has Taunt on their moveset, your Spiritomb's strategy will be used against it. Bye,Bye Spiritomb.

Agreed. Taunt totally messes up your Spiritomb leaving it only Struggle. Scizor should have Superpower to get through Heatran and Empoleon. Also Bug Bite for Slowbro with Flamethrower works quite handily.
