hey guys im new to pokebeach and actually to the pokemon competitive world and i just started studying up on Ev's IV's natures and all i got myself a lv 33 hatched Dragonair with stats as follows

HP-92
ATK-89
DEF-50
SPA-52
SPD-56
SPEED-69

according to the IV calculator it has 31 in both attack and speed and 28 in hit points and 26 in defense with a 4 in special attack let me know what you think and advice as to how to get at least three perfect iV's on one pokemon.

The competitive world is very very hard, and I'm very sorry but your Dragonair isn't going to be that good. 31 atk and speed would be amazing, but an IV calculator cannot accurately calculate any pokemon that is not level 100. That is why many people go on wifi to battle and since wifi makes them auto level 100 they can tell the IVs of that pokemon. You cannot tell the IVs of a pokemon if you don't know exactly what EVs you gave it. If it is just hatched it has no EVs. Also, since you trained the Dragonair, you just used up a lot of EVs (effort values), which are more important than IVs in most cases. If you want to learn more about EVs check the HG/SS guide on Pokebeach (which can be found http://pokebeach.com/content/games/heartgold.txt ), they have a nice little section on that. IV breeding is very hard, and most people just clone to get perfect IVs. It isn't easy, but if you keep trying and use the power items you will get it. (Another section in that guide is about IV breeding. You might want to check that too.) Hope I helped, and if you have any questions you can PM me.

hey well i just got my dragonite to level 100 and its IV's are
HP 28
Def 26
Attack 31
SP Defense 16
SP Attack 4
Speed 31

so is that now good enough to compete?

Well like I said before, you can't tell your pokemon's IVs without knowing it's EVs. If you did not keep track of it's EVs the calculator won't correctly tell it. If you EV trained it, or used all Rare Candies, then you can tell.

well i did keep track of all the ev's and each stat they went into i just want to know if my dragonite would do ok in the competitive world if not then ok thats cool back to the drawing board
