'Hidden' Item Attributes?

I've heard from SEVERAL people on PO say that certain items give certain thigns certain bonuses.

ex. (from what I've heard) Repel works like and instant Whirlwind when you send out a Pokemon with it equipped.

Big Pearl makes the move Pay Day ridiculously high base damage.

I'm sure theres more, but this is all I bothered to ask.

And if you're wondering what cmpelled me to ask, it would be this. See the weird items? Yeah. I wouldn't be suprised if someone had hacked the site, but I wanna get your opinions on it.

Errors, nothing more. Even if this were true, none of those Mewtwo know Pay Day (which is apparently the whole point of these things).

Repel acting as Whirlwind would be stupid. What if everyone is @Repel? You'd get stuck in a phazing loop that would never end.

I don't believe the items are suppose to have a special bonus either. If they did, I'm sure smogon would have something on the subject. I know the Uber tier in and out and Big Pearl is not something Mewtwo should be using.

Just look at the other usuage stats from for example the OU Wi-Fi tier, the top used Pokémon often have odd items/attacks/EV:s etc as the top used sets. Somebody has trolled by using these odd Pokémon or somebody has hacked the site. It has been like this for some weeks now at least.
I haven't heared of those side effects, but if you are interested, why don't you just try? If they exist, it's a bug.

I heard somewhere the NeverMeltIce decreases Fire damage by 50%. I'm presuming that isn't true?

I've heard that that water pedant (that increases power of water-type moves), gives more strength to Thunder (as if it was to replace Rain Dance). I never really imagined how can that happen to be honest.
