Ruling Holon WP?

Does holon WP stop special conditions when a water energy is with it cause it says "prevent all effects of an opponents attack excluding damage."please help.

Special Conditions are effects of attacks, so Holon WP will stop them.

depends, if you get the special condition through an attack, yes, if you get it through a poke-power or body (like flareon ex, vileplume HP, ...) then it won't be stopped

Ah, right. I forgot about that. Holon WP only stops Special Conditions through attacks. If it is inflicted through any other means, Holon WP won't protect you. Thanks for clearing that up.

Nope. It's not base damage, so it does nothing. Deafen is a good attack anyway.

Actually if you had a WP with water it would block everything except the damage, but you could always use cessations too to eliminate any vileplume or anything like that which might status your deck unexpectadely.

Yes it does unless the special effect is from a Poke-Power or Poke-Body.

yes. it prevents special conditions, if the special conditions comes from the attack, not from poke-power or pokebody. u also dun need to follow any other effects of the attack eg. discard energy, retreat...etc..

Deafen breaks through WP because its effect is on the opponent rather than on the Defending Pokémon.
