Ruling Holon's Trode and Casty

Another scenario guys!! This time, it's in the right place!!

My friend has an Aerodactyl LM and my Active is a Deoxys ex (Normal). He believes that when he attachs a Holon's Trode or Casty that damage from my Deoxys ex would be reduced by 20 because Holon's Trode and Casty reads that it provides two of every Energy without the effect. Would the damage be reduced? Aerodactyl's Poke-Body reads that for each REact Energy attached to it, damage would be reduced by that many React Energy cards. I believe that this would not be in effect due to the fact that Holon's Electrode or Castform is not providing Special Energy cards like Magma Energy or Holon Energy of whatever. Who's right?
 
Wrong. I'm not sure if it supplies react energy, but it cannot change the actual card itself. If it says "card" after energy (like on Areodactyl) then it must be the physical card, no substitutes..
 
Who's "wrong?" I'm kind of like saying that if Holon's Elcetrode was like React Energy, it would only provide Colorless Energy and not React Energy.
 
Cards like Holon's Castform/Magneton/Electrode, DRE, Rainbow, Multi, Scramble, etc, only provide energy types (being Fire, Grass, Water, Fighting, Psychic, Electric, Metal and Dark). They do not provide any other energy which is not those listed, because there are no other energy types. You could say Colourless too, but every energy type provides Colourless anyway making it pointless. Hence why there is no basic Colourless energy cards.

React energy is not an 'energy type'. Like said above, you can't say "This provides React energy" because all React energy is is a Colourless energy (it would provide Colourless energy only). The way React energy works is that it is a specific card name, not an energy type. The only time when a card will "provide React energy" is if the card React energy is attached to that Pokemon. There are no substitutes for React energy ever because there are no other cards which have the name of 'React energy'. You must have that specific card attached to use any effects of attacks/powers/bodies on a Pokemon card.
 
Well its the same idea of you don't get the effect of Dark or Metal Either it just provides the type, React energy is normal type.
 
Ooooooooohhhh.... I get it now! So Trode and Casty will not provide REACT Energy, but COLORLESS Energy! Right?

Right but remember will not provide the React Energy. So the Holon Trode/Casty will not prevent the 20 damage...
