Hot Air Balloon goes haywire.

Not sure if this is the right place. Today a hot air ballon goes up up and away because the older bro told his little bro to hop in and at first they thought he got inside the ballon or jumped off but after a massive search they found him hiding in the attic the whole time. At one point the balloon was as high as 7,000 fee. His Dad and him were working on the homemade balloon at the time when the older bro told him to hop in the basket which the searchers on the ground feared that he fell or jumped off at some point. The Family was featured on an episode of Wife Swap and this happened just outside of Denver Colorado. I watched the Ballon land live. It landed at about 12:30 PM PST. It was going down in a spinning top motion but it sure was a scary sight at the time. The Balloon looked sort of like a UFO. The Family is not facing any financial or criminal charges but his older bro should pay for the search though. I was on almost every newscast. It was scary at the time too.:)
 
Wasn't this Breaking News for atlest 3 hours or something?

Ugh, brothers and little kids. Who konws what they do.
 
I heard my mom talking about this story, thats probably something that my evil step-brother would do to my little baby brother, but, yes, that was very stupipd, and its just hilarious that those guys were on wife swap, but really, how did they find out that they were on wife swap?
 
Yeah, this was a big story yesterday. I heard the search cost like millions of dollars. :X Glad the boy is safe though...

Apparently, on a talk show, the kid said that his dad told him it was for a show.

Dad should definitely face criminal charges.
 
Yeah he should and so should the older brother because he told his little bro to go hide in the Attic. I was breaking news and a lot of people thought it was a hoax or something too. They have been on Wife Swap 2 times apparently in the past. I am just glad they are all alive but they should pay the $28,000 that it cost for the search team though.:)
 
Yeah, I'm starting to hear that this was just for a joke as well. For some reason. This is going to get ugly... and quickly.
 
They might press charges now since they had full footage of it happening on tape and also they think the father faked the 911 call.:)
 
I was all a hoax and they will be charged with a mistimeaner and a bunch of other charges.:)

I heard that, but it was just a rumour because of something the kid said on CNN. He said "We did it for a show". So, he could easily have been talking about the fact that they filmed the balloon, r he could have even have been talking about Wife Swap. Regardless, I don't think it was that big a deal.

Actually it was a big deal. The guy and his wife met in acting school and was hoping to have his own reality show by doing this. The fact that the kids helped plan this was really bad. Yesterday the searched his house and they found ALL the plans for this publicity stunt. Now they are facing Felony charges including endangering a child and a bunch of other charges. I guess this guy has a history of doing things like this and in 1997 he was charged on a mistimeaner charge for something else so he has some criminal charges from the past too. It was all planned. They planned this for 2 weeks before it happened.:)

The cost, the time, and the effort put into it make this a very big deal. It also takes away the services that could be needed elsewhere for something actually real and important.

Very good point there. Yeah the guy wasted $28,000 all for a hoax to hope to get his on reality show. The reality here is this guy does not care about what happened during the whole ordeal. The fact that he and his family planned this whole stunt just gets me because he does not realize how much time was wasted and could have been put to better use elsewhere that needed the help and I bet there was someone at the time that needed the help and they did not get the help because of this fool that wanted to try for his own reality show. The only reason he is not in jail is because no one was hurt or died but he will have feloney charges which brings the ineligibility to vote ever a gain for any President or state governor or senate in the U nited States of America.:)
 
He was making a pitch for a reality show like Mythbusters. He even wrote a theme song for it.
