Ruling how do you qualify for a play pokemon event

sorry to bug ya but i need questions answered and this is the only place i know.

how do you qualify for a play pokemon event?
i am wanting to go to TN state 2017 and TN regionals 2017but have never played competitively before can you help me on this.


what are play points?

i looked on the pokemon website and it said that they could used to cover expenses and flight cost?


and finaly

am i doing anythng for my competitive rep at my league?

State Championships don't exist this year. There is no requirement for Regionals other than paying the registration fee and showing up.

Play! Points were used to qualify for Nationals, but currently have no role. They are "earned" by attending sanctioned events.

Championship Points are used to qualify for Worlds. They are earned by placing highly in sanctioned events.

League is a good place to practice and trade, but weekly League doesn't count for anything competitive.
