Ruling How do you suggest I organize my cards for trading?

Hi

I would like to keep my extra Pokémon cards organized so that they are ready for trading. Do you think it would be handy to have them in sleeves in a binder or should I just collect them in piles based on the set they are from?

I don't want to spend too much time organizing, I just want a system which is handy and easy to use.

keep mint (sleeves or binder) every Rare, rare foil, reverse foil, ex, and level x card.
uncommon and common can be piled and transported, in deck boxes, so you can change them.
you can arrenge them in various forms:
Rarity: Lv. X, EX, Rare foil, Reverse foil, Rare, Uncommon, Common.
Category: Trainers, Supporters, Tools, Stadiums, Basics, Stage 1, Stage 2.
Type: Fire, Grass, Dark, Metal....etc.
Expansion: DP, MT, SW, GE.
Number: No comments.
Or any combination that fits you.
I use Rarity, Category, Type, to order mines, and it gets pretty easy to trade and construct decks.

cacgbass, although your name is cryptic your two posts on my threads are some of the easiest to understand ever! You have a clear mind ... everyone else please take note and aspire to writing more clearly (than me).

Anyway before this gets off topic, Thanks! I will keep the important cards in sleeves or those card protectors while playing a deck and keep the rest in deck boxes by some category ... hmmm ... sets maybe ... I like sets.

This is what I've done.
4 big folders/binders
1st: Base-Skyridge
2nd: R/S-PK
3rd: D/P's 1-3
4th: Promo's
DBZ Folder: Rev.Holo's
LM folder: Ex's, Shiny's & Lv.X's
Mini DS Folder: spares (AKA: Tradeables)
DP Mini Foler: Spare Rev.holo's
Eeveelutions (japanese) folder: All of my speacil YGO cards
Ultra Pro Folder (I traced a Dark Magician Girl & used contact/clear plastic to hold it down): Other YGO cards
Stackable box (Pink): Other Cards

All my cards are organized by set. 1/xxx, 2/xxx, 3/xxx, and so on.

well for my commons and uncommons that I currently am not using in a deck I alphabatize. So if I make a new deck the cards are handy to find. But If you strickly trade no play, then I would go with an organized binder by set and within that rarity.

Now this is important. SEPARATE YOUR CARDS. Example, I have 2 same garchomp and I stuff both into a space in my album. Never do that. Put 1 garchomp into 1 space. I stuffed 4 pluspower into 1 space and the next thing I know there were only 3. Stealings happen even in this calm world of cards.

Yeah, things like that happen if you don't watch your cards closely.

Thanks everyone.

Based on all of your input my plan is to organize our rare and shiny cards in a binder according to set and put the rest of the cards into "set deck boxes".

I will also get individual protectors for our active decks of cards. Can anyone recommend a brand of card protectors or deck boxes?

I keep all my rare, Lv.X, EX and Special cards in a large binder, and if I don't have the rare for a chain I put in the Uncommon/Common card below it.
All my trainers and energy are kept in a tin, as are my commons/uncommons that aren't in the binder.
For really rare cards I put them in sleeves and then the binder, because it gives extra protection.

What I have is a BCW Gamer's case! Anyways I put all my rares,EX's,Lv.X's,*'s in my binder and keep all my commons, uncommons, trainers, and energy in seperate pockets of the case!

What type or brand of tin do you use?
