hey guys, i have a question that i would like answered: how would yveltal get over a match vs gardevoir? I just want to be prepared for any gardevoir decks i run into since they have a resistance to darkness.

Moved from the TCG Help to the TCG Competitive Play, as the OP is asking about strategy, which has discussion potential worthy of the competitive forums. ~bbninjas

Play 2 fright night down FAST, so if the gard player ropes, You put the secund in the active...dont let the links work.
Keep lyzandre stall in the gards without energy, and dont go for the shaymins and hoopas, kill/nuke the threats and load one big ex for the end.

Fright Night does surprisingly well, doing a 40/60 snipe and the ability makes it to where they have to use a turn getting out M Gardevoir-EX. Winning the coin flip and going first will give you a huge advantage as well. Gardevoir has no ability to deal with Garbodor either since they need abilities to continue their damage so getting one or two up will help immensely. What you should do it get Fright Night one and build up a really big Yveltal EX or two.

The other two pretty much explained it, but they didn't mention that simply opening Fright Night isn't necessarily going to happen 100% of the time. Also, is you prize any, you're screwed. And a good Gardevoir player can get around Yveltal ridiculously easily, so I would suggest playing 3 Fright Night. If you play 4 big birds, I would like to point out the only matchup you need 4 for is Greninja, so if you want to beat Gardevoir (not to mention other matchups) you should suggest the 3-3 split. You could also tech Darkrai-EX (or the cringe-worthy Umbreon-EX) since they both resist Garde, and slam for decent damage. You also don't want to set up Garb until they mega evolve at least 1 Gardevoir-EX. Some of my friends also play both Olympia as well as Pokémon Center Lady, since healing is so good in this meta.
