Hey everyone my first regional is coming up and I'm wondering how long day 2 last in a regional since I need to book a bus back to arrive before work on a monday and still get enough sleep. If anyone can give me a rough estimate to how long it takes to receive prizes and finish all matches. Thanks!

Moved from the TCG Competitive to the TCG Help & Advice as the OP is looking for advice on events. ~bbninjas

Unfortunately, the answer may be "it depends." Most Regional tournaments (I've attended) day 2 will start in the morning (the earlier, the better) and "should" conclude by mid-afternoon that day. My "it depends" is subject to a variety of things such as:
  • First and foremost the tournament organizer - does this person run efficient tournaments?
  • Size of player population
  • Venue time restrictions - the venue could possibly limit day 1 play time; so, more players may need to play on day 2 than usual
  • Technical issues - tournament software, printer, and inordinate amount of player issues can also cause unforeseen tournament delays
I'd suggest contacting the tournament's organizer to get a better idea of when he/she thinks the day 2 event will conclude.

Thanks for the response! But where do I find out who the TO will be/ any tournament information other than the date and place? (Going to san jose regional in california)

Following is a link to the official Pokémon event website: https://www.pokemon.com/us/play-pokemon/pokemon-events/find-an-event/ You can use this website to search for a variety of events. For Regional tournaments, specify "Premier Events" and any other relevant search criteria, e.g. country, ZIP code, etc. After the resulting list is displayed, click on the name of the Regional tournament you are interested in. Detailed tournament info is then displayed including the tournament organizer's contact info.

I pretty much agree with the other response.
I have gone to the last couple San Jose Regionals. (assuming you are playing in Masters).
Day 1 can go deep into the evening depending on how good they are at starting on Time.
Day 2 is usually just Top Cut. and they try their best to have a early start.
so.... typically they are done by early afternoon.

they have a LC on Sunday. and as usual, side events.
depending on which direction you are going... be aware of traffic and possibly
other events that may be going on (I didn't check if there was a 49ers game).
but a lot of people will be out and about for xmas shopping.
