How Safe is Serebii forums?

I am wondering because I want to become a member there also for trading but I don't know how safe it is bug and Virus wise. Could someone give me the lowdown on that please? MODS PLEASE HELP if you know anything. If this thread should not be here then lock. I was only asking. Thanks.

It's relatively safe there in terms of viruses.

In terms of stupidity, you may have some trouble. Stay away from the game discussion forums, and remember your hardhat.

You can go about trading there I guess, but I'd rather not get involved with the community; it's extremely large and it's hard to get to know people.

Honestly Serebii is just really active and super laggy. If you post something it will get responded too and like Zenith said put on your hard hat. One other thing, the mods there have a tendency to play favorites(with members) so if you get an unfair ban/warn don't try to resist. I tried to and failed :/.

Anyway, like the others said; It's an extremely big community. I don't prefer it. Also can't get used to the dark colors (yes the lay-out has a big impact on me ._.)

They're perfectly safe from viruses, but the last time I was on there, it was extremely slow. As long as you don't mind that and the rude attitudes there, you'll be fine.

Well if your planning on trading, Your going to get 95% hacked Pokemon. You cannot trust the traders there, and the Serebii staff really does play favorites as aforementioned.

As mentioned earlier you could add a file to a post, however it is possible to create a file which will work something like a virus so to speak, as I have been to forum where they used one like an April fools joke. x.x Scared the crud out of me. But ya it's technically possible, will it be tolerated by mybb if it is reported? No.

C88 could you please stop saying everything is 95% hacked when it is NOT hacked? please? Just because you use Pokesav to hack check does not mean it is hacked. Pokesav is not the official hack checker to hack check Pokemon. It checks it in a way that the other hack checkers don't but it does not mean it is hacked. So far you are the only one that says the Pokemon that everyone trades wherever they are on whichever forums are hacked. Could you please sto saying this Pokemon is hacked and 95 % of them are hacked. Thanks. How do you know that the events are hacked and if they have the correct OT and ID how do you know they are hacked without using Pokesav? Please tell me that. Thanks. Anyway it sounds like the site is pretty safe to go to then so I will probably sign up and post there as well. What do you guys mean by the mods picking favorites? What is so bad about that?

How do you know they're not hacked? Hacking is the easiest way to obtain a certain Pokemon, while knowing the Serebii Forums a bit I'm sure a lot of them are going for the easy way, thus you may expect a lot of hacked Pokemon...

How do you guys actually know that they are hacked though? I am only wondering since it probably is not that much different than here. The only thing so far that is different from here is that you can't post your own player thread like here and it is all in one big thread. I have read your post. It is probably the same as here. According to C88 95% of the Pokemon are hacked here and he is the only one that keeps on saying that and the rest don't even say that at all.

I've logged into there almost every day since I made my account over two years ago and my virus scanner has never had a problem with it. And none of my friends have either. I would guess that people only say it's unsafe because it was hacked into a few years ago and there were some... bad things put up by the hacker. But nowadays it's just as safe any any other Pokemon fansite.

You only get hacks if you trade with new members or if you don't check obvious things. And that's true with any trade site. Trade with members that have been there a long time and have allot of posts and you'll do fine.
As for the favorites, I can't speak for the other mods but I've had to infract personal friends in the past for breaking the rules.

It's usualy slow most of the time. That's what happens when you have over 111,000 members and over 280,000 threads.
