How to play in lan

I have a problem. Friend and I are trying to play each other in lan. I think I'm doing everything right, but could you tell me excatly what to do, please.

Remember to start the game simultaneously.

You probably can play over LAN, but idk how.
 
to play redshark over lan you'll need to run ipconfig in your cmd and find your lan port #, if you are connected through a lan already you'll look for your the area which says LNPT and it will display a list of the computers connected to your computer
(if nothing comes up when you use the command "ipconfig" you arent connected, if you dont see LNPT but see ip address and values you're connected to the internet but not the other computer)

if you only have 1 other computer connected to your computer then it will be the only visible value in the list

take the first 2 and the last 2 digits and enter them into your port # space in your prefences option (these instructions are for the calling computer)(generally the first two are 70 for a PC and 40 for a mac and the last 2 will range from 5 to 70 so if you had a LNPT as "70:70:6:52" you would enter in your port # as 7052)

choose mode 4 and have the host press start and then caller press start

to be connected in this way you'll still need a router or a wireless setup point for both computer to connect to
