Hydra-boar (HS on with Hydreigon from RC)

with the new release pictures of some more cards from red collection Hydreigon was one of them. its ability makes all energy attached to it, the same as that pokemon. so as it's basically the same as BASE Charizard, we can run Double Colourless with it. also if it's got no energy, you can put fire energy onto it and make them all darkness!!

Hydra-boar

pokemon: 22
3-2-3 Hydriegon
2-1-2 Emboar
2-2 Ninetails
4 Stantler
1 Unknown (UD Dark)

Item: 22
4 Rare Candy
2 Pokemon Collector
3 Pokemon Communication
3 Professor Oak's New Theory
2 Energy Retrieval
3 Pokemon Catcher
2 Twins
2 Junk Arm
1 Flower shop Lady

Energy: 16
4 Double Colourless
4 special Darkness
8 Fire Energy

Strategy. Running 4 stage 2's will be tough which is why i need all the help i can get! still waiting for the trainer/ supporters from RC to be released, but for now the deck would run the same as a regular Reshiboar deck, but with Hydreigon to abuse it's ability to use any energy. Ninetails for Draw power, and Stantler is your starter. one Unknown Dark is included to help get that need Darkness Energy into your hand, to power up Hydreigon. Emboar is a great help with putting the energy onto cards like hydreigon, and whats more, with Emboar you can drop a double colourless onto Hydreigon and use Emboars Fantango to drop the remaining energy onto it! if in the worse situations you can always confuse the oponent with Stantler, to try and set up!

Pokemon Catcher will work amazing with this, as Hydreigon damages the oponents bench by 2 pokemon, (40 damage to each one). unless they have a seeker, you can then follow up with a nice KO to one of their damaged pokemon. if that dosn't work, you can use Emboar late/mid game (If you can afford to loose this guy should he die, for any reason.

this is just a template untill the new cards come out. and any help and advice on how this deck could work would be much apprieated.

RE: Masters: Hydra-boar (HS on with Hydreigon from RC)

It might not hurt to replace Cinccino with Mandibuzz.

RE: Masters: Hydra-boar (HS on with Hydreigon from RC)

i thought as much. Blindside is just to good when combined with Hydreigon. 50 plus 10 for special dark (60) and hit for KO, or near KO, if it has more than 100 HP.

also against other Reshi-boars, i can use a pokemon catcher on their Emboars and do 100 damage plus Special dark damage to it, with punishment.

Added one Special Darkness Energy and Took off one Fisherman, for Mandibuzz

RE: Masters: Hydra-boar (HS on with Hydreigon from RC)

If Hydreigon is not the main focus of the deck then it deserves no space in the deck. but seeing as this is a HydraBoar deck wouldn't it be a smart idea to just drop the Reshriam (running 4 would imply you plan to attack with it quite often which shouldn't be the case here) you can play 1 if you want to but i personally wouldn't as i see no need for it. What you can try is this pokemon line

1 Cleffa HGSS
4 Stantler UL (this is a slow deck, you're going to need a starter)
2-2 Ninetales
2-1-2 Emboar
3-2-3 Hydreigon

It would also be a good idea to idea at least 2/3 Twins as this is going to be a slow deck most likely setting up T3 but probably T4 alot of the time and just aim to hit extremely hard mid-game. You may not even need Emboar though it does help in setting up a benched Hydreigon, though with Hydreigons 150HP it won't be going down easily, plus unlike MagneBoar and ReshBoar you're not over-reliant on energy drops every turn. so maybe

3-2-3 Hydreigon
2-2 Zoroark
4 Stantler UL
1 Cleffa HGSS

Still not sure on what to pair with Hydreigon but Zoroark seems like a nice idea. The deck is going to run DCE anyway so this could act as a nice Reshriam tech revenge killer (needs a special {D} energy) plus it can search out any card you need.

Pairing it with Reniculus seems like a neat idea IMO and just move damage from Hydreigon to a benched pokemon and just Seeker it up, however the downfall of this would be that your opponent could just pick-up one of their damaged pokemon though you're hitting 2 benched pokemon anyway.

iv'e gone with your First set Empoleon!

iv'e added Ninetails, and Stantler, and put Twins in my list.
i feel i might have to many pokemon in this deck, and not enough trainer cards, because i took out a Collector for a Stantler (Does the same thing) and removed Reshiram for the remaining Stantler. Professor oak and remaining fisherman where removed for Ninetails.
and then removed 2 Fire for Twins.

now the deck dosn't feel as if it has enough fire energy, to run with ninetails roast reveal, which is why i'm thinking of that Zoroark Suggestion.

also could Unknown Dark be used in this deck?

With 4 Energy Retrieval and 3 Junk Arm, you can bring back all the {R} energy you need to be able to use Roast Reveal. With this particualr build i'd say drop the Mandibuzz. I woud only include Mandibuzz if you weren't playing Emboar, plus with Hydreigon's huge HP it's most likely going to be 2HKO'd alot of the time meaning you should be able to use at least 2 Dangerous Blades and if you're targeting the right benched pokemon, should give you 2 (maybe 3) prizes.

There are now 4 open spots

-1 Junk Arm
-2 Energy Retrieval (4 is just way too many. This isn't a ReshBoar list, you're not discarding energy every single turn)
-1 Pokemon Collector (with Stantler in the list 2 will suffice)

+1-1-1 Hydreigon (Having a second Hydreigon in the prizes can be tragic. Playing more ensures you'll have 2 in your deck a majority of the time)
+3 Professor Oak's New Theory (this build seems quite prone to bad hands, plus the occasional hand refresh doesn't hurt)
+1 Flower Shop Lady (A way to bring back pokemon as well as energy)
+1 "insert useful card here"

You could include a single Switch just incase plus to just fill in the last space with a useful card. You could play Unown UD (Dark) but remember it only works once when you play it from your hand and it only searches out a {D} energy, it doesn't place it onto anything.

I went with your Suggestion Empoleon and edited the deck list. i decided to go with Unknown Dark for the last card, since it's basically a free darkness energy (pluspower effect)

and should you loose a pokemon you can throw Unknown at them for Fodder, then use Twins to get the cards you need or flower shop to get back Unknown and any other fire/ pokemon you have in the discard.
