I hope you didn't want to play basics - Absol Prime

What basic pokemon (that evolves) has more than 70 hp?

Ill tell you: None (that matter).

Start with Absol Prime. You can do 70 to kill anything before they evolve, or you can retreat to mandibuzz to do 50 (plus 20 from absol's body) before they evolve.

If you are facing magneboar/reshiboar, it would be fairly easy to ko their tepigs/magnemites. The only way out of it is to bench suicidal tepigs/magnemites. In this case, you can always reversal one out and continue to snipe the bench, or reversal out the magneton/pignite and kill it with one hit with Absol.

Add in Ttar/Hydreigon if you like, but it's not necessary.

i made a hydreigon deck just to test him out and i tried absol as a starter and it realy wasnt that great because it didnt help me set up, a better starter for hydreigon was smergle, sorry if it disapointed you ( it disapointed me) its just one of those ideas thats great on paper but then when you try it out ur like WTF!!!!--PeAcE!!!

Well when that Gust of Wind reprint comes out it might be good with just that and various techs. Considering that Rare Candy can't be played on basics that were played that turn (right?). And then you can "gust" up their basics and ruin their attempted setup. This really hurts decks that use Emboar or decks that play a lot of basics. What do you think?

Onix FTW! The problem with something like this is after you attack with mandibuzz your opponent gets to lay down basics without getting damaged.

I tried an Absol/Mandibuzz deck and it did not work very well. Eye of Disaster is easier to avoid than it looks, and Vicious claw is hard to pull off T2 requiring 2 energies and a Pokémon to be lost zoned. It looks awesome, and would be if it worked, but it just does not.

One other thing worth mentioning is that they can catcher/reversal Absol away from the active spot, thus allowing them to play basics safely as well. It's true the catcher can screw the opponent real good when you use it, but it can also be used against you.

I do respect the deck idea, and if you can get it to work it could be really awesome.

Run it with Vileplume and Maybe Only Supporters, then they can't reversal or Catcher you away and can't play any trainers.

Use all of your trainers before Vileplume comes out. Seeker and then do it again.

The problem with that line of thinking is that the opponent, barring a really terrible hand, can also burn out his trainers to set up. Not to mention that if the lock is established that late in game, the basics that need to be set up are probably on the field anyway.

This card is like Haxorus in the VGC: good on paper. If you start with Absol Prime, you're not really helping yourself out much. If your opponent has the worst hand ever, sure. You could get some damage out. But if he/she sets three or four of his/her Basics, he/she (ok I'm done with that) isn't gonna play Basics. 80 HP isn't much. At all. And getting two Energy on him to do only 70 damage means you're only getting one or two attacks in before you have to come back. Heavy hitters will rip you apart.
