Discussion Ideas for new casual/non casual formats in the future?

Hi everyone as of now we have 2 main formats (Standard/Expanded) and 1 semi main format (Legacy). Now I have a vast collection of old cards going all the way back to base set and would love to use them in a competitively viable way. I personally would like to see formats that focus on older sets for casual play. For example a Neo format where only cards from the base set upto Neo Discovery can be used. Or an EX format where only cards from EX RS to EX Power keepers can be used?

Other format ideas are ones that put certain restrictions on the way a player can build their deck. Eg. A no EX format where you can't use EX cards or a Singleton format where you can't have multiples of the same card (You can have multiples of a pokemon but they must be different cards) besides basic energy. Perhaps a Little Cup format where only Common cards can be used?

What formats would you like to see tested out and perhaps officialised in the future?

I would love to see something like the prereleases. The idea that you have to design a deck based on what you pull from packs. I would kind of like to see an unlimited format with an extended ban list. I do not really like the idea of static formats like the base set through neo idea. Since the game is going into GX's instead of EX's the no EX's idea you made could be remade into no cards that give two prizes. I saw a cool "standard" tournament where there was 40 card decks, and only Commons and uncommons. In that tournament you could only have 2 of each card in your deck. ( Aside from basic energy.) I am really looking forward to what others come up with.

1) You can always try to get a comprehensive list of past formats and rules to enjoy your older cards.

2) I haven't tried it in a while, but I enjoy Base Set through Fossil, but with Energy Removal and Super Energy Removal banned. The reason for banning these is because, after testing, I found them the most effective cut to reduce the potency of the top decks. Without them, the competitive decks of the time are compressed into the top tier, with several other decks that couldn't cut it filling out the next two levels of play, with the usual rewards of playing a weaker deck in a metagame focused on only the top tier. For specifics, look at Base Set Electrode and all the Pokémon it enables, and then remember what S/ER does to it. Once Evolutions don't have to worry about their Energy being stripped, even if they go down a few Prizes, they can still get setup. Once that happens, they can hit damage levels that can OHKO Haymaker Pokémon without relying on Weakness.
