What do you think would be the better play for the card? Would you rather play the metal variant with Magnezone, or would you rather play a psychic type variant with Malamar (psychic dynamotor/metal links)
Personally I think both decks could perform very well with their respective strategies.
Whereas the metal variant only requires 1 stage 2 Pokemon (Magnezone) to set up, it is very reliant on getting the energy back in your hand via Mt. Coronet / Fisherman, which may eventually leave you without enough outs to retrieving energy in the late game.
If the card were to receive a psychic type reprint however, you would only need to set up 2 stage 1 Pokemon (Malamar) in order to consistently attack, getting 2 of your energies back from Malamar's ability and 1 attachment from hand, which isn't to say you might not want to play Mt. Coronet and a few metal energy to guarantee you always have that third energy in hand to attach while only having 2 Malamar in play. Getting out and sustaining 3 Malamar might be difficult to manage though. Another tool you could utilize in this deck is Standard's new Keldeo-EX, Dawn Wings Necrozma-GX with it's invasion ability. This allows you to send your active Dusk Mane to the bench, allowing Malamar to use its ability, and then retreating Dawn Wings with a Float Stone to move Dusk Mane back into the active for another attack. This deck could also heavily benefit from the new item card that lets you discard a card from your hand to search for a psychic or dragon Pokemon.
So if Dusk Mane Necrozma-GX received a psychic type reprint in a future set, which variant of the deck would you enjoy playing more? Which do you think would perform better competitively? Which combo would feel cooler to pull off?
