OK... I overheard my judge today discussing some things POP was talking about doing.

1. All the way until Nationals it will only ne Top 4 no matter what.
2. 3rd and 4th may not even play.
3. They're going to set a time-limit to set-up due to mulligans.
4. Trophies for only 3rd and under... 4th may not even get anything.
5. #1 Includes:

Cities
States
Regionals
Maybe Battle Roads Autumn

Just letting all TCG players know. I am a little wearysome about the Top Cut thing due to the fact last states had about 50 in it.:F
 
Yea... he said OP is really cutting it short this year. Though they haven't made it final. Though it probably will.:(
 
:O... this sucks... I mean REALLY sucks... its like you have to go with only 1 loss to even have a SMALL chance of getting T4 in States :[. Thanks for the heads up, bonsly. Hopefully this will encourage us to play a little better :]
 
Yea... I wanted to warn everybody to be prepared, for all we know it could come into effect right now. I hope they don't decide to do this. I had over 50 people in my divison laste year in states... not cool.:p
 
This same sort of thing happened with me today at Cities (Referring to the first statement). There was a big discussion going on with the people who normally make top 4 in each age division, about our judges talking about having only a top two in each division.

Personally, I'd have been fine with top 8 standings, I got 8th place today. xD
 
This is all hogwash and has no solid grounding to base itself on.

You "overheard" your Judge talking about something Pokemon Organized Play were allegedly going to do...And where did *HE* hear it all from? Someone who was rummaging through PUI's trash cans?

POP and PUI might make some stupid decisions. But I guarantee you, they would NOT kill their game by doing *ALL* of that. Reduction in prizes however, correct me if I am wrong, is due to the higher costs of running it all due to increased interest rates and increased taxes in America due to their $48 TRILLION dollar debt.

if they made top 4 cut for everything up to nats, i be FUMING MAD! i alvays zeem to finish 5th or 6th. i have only made top 4 4 times in 2 years!

We judges actually know quite a fair amount of what we are talking about, if you're talking about judges as a whole. :p

On this matter, I have no clue, but I always heard that depending on turnout is how a top cut is determined. Last year, I heard Ohio states had over 130 people in combined with a top 8 cut in Masters.

Its a little unfair to play a top 4 cut with a lot of players. And without any backup, I won't believe this.
 
sorry naki i dont mean all juges but just a couple probably don t know exactly whats gonna happen..

Good, we've had T2 the last 6+ times
2. 3rd and 4th may not even play.

0_o T2 decks 'll be hurting

This is not speculation but truth out of my PTO's mouth.

If all other states are like ours, It will be top 8 cut. Mr. Patterson has pretty much confirmed that he could not hold a top 4 cut with his possible numbers. You guys have nothing to worry about.
