Improvement for the forums

I've noticed that recently we've had alot of new comers. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but It builds up to a whole bunch of noobs that have no common sense and end up post usless stuff in places that they shouldn't. Which leads to alot of extra work for Mods and causes the forum to explode with loked and moved crap. Like, I noticed someone posted this in the game cornor: Post your trainer cards here.
And that was the entire message. There are alot of usless threads that have one sentance in them, with no explaination and no format, such as a paragraph for there my player thread.

Is there anyway to hook up the "information for noobs" thread to their entry? As in, when they first login for the very first time, that thread comes up, so they can read them before posting on the site? Its just something that can to mind as I was browsing the forums.

yay like the thing you have to read (doubt any one does) and you have to check of the box.... why not put rules..... i was a new comer back in the day and i played by the rules.... and i did every thing in the guide to makeng a player thread..... and i don't get how you know if some one has a pokemon you want if it says: i have a shiny mewtwo.....

Well, personally I didn't read the guide, because I never went onto the site discussion. So, I ended up reading it about a two weeks ago. :p I did folow the guide to making a player thread, but most people (noobs) just post usless threads that nobody post on. I also noticed that alot of the names are the similiar. Like once I saw: Water Pokemon Apprentice. And then I saw something like: FlygonKing.

They try and fail to copy off of the anti-n00b veterans (not really including me :p). I read ALL of the rules before posting. Using grammar, spelling, and capitalization really helps to build a reputation in PokeBeach. Hooking up the thread to entry would be like the hooking up of a privacy policy statement that many sites do. No one reads it. The n00b just checks the box and goes on to break the rules like there's no tomorrow.

why dont they just have a thread for noobs to post in just like another web, i dont remember what it was so thats the end of that

yes this is what we are seeung daily tons of spam by n00bs, bad grammar, and see the main problem of pokebeach the errors according to tikitiki (the guy that came to fix the errors) this is caused by a lot of data here or that was what I understood so with to many spam daily in my computer is almost impossible to navigate by these errors so why new members can,t receuve a PM to read Señor Noobnerd´s guide?this might help a little with th n00b problem we have now

They don't even read the rules. What's the point? Just report them and report so many times until some moderator posts in that thread saying that that spammer got a warning or a temp ban.

yay like the one sentence threads: i have a lucario and i want a ditto.....
probobly all of my threads (don't have two) have atleast more than one sentence in them.

I think the forums are great ! I don't think there is need for improvements but maybe add another skin or two

no the improvement we are talking about is the n00b problem we have they post with no sense as it if were no tomorrow for now what we can do is report them

It's just annoying. They post random stuff and tpe lik dis so uo cnt tel wht dey r syng. It's really borthersome to try and figure out what they are saying. They only time you should type like that is IM'ing. It gives us a bad reputation, and makes everything look like a trashcan. Personally I think that noobs should have a limit or something, or make them unable to make threads until they are LV 8-10, but that's not really fair. Hmmmm... what about Noob Mods? Similiar to Mods, but they are in control of the noobs, and show them how to type on the site and how to get avy's and stuff. That would work, but we need to convince WPM. :(

That's a good idea Flygon, but yeah, if only we could get it through to Water Pokemon Master...

Uh, that's basically what moderators do. There would be no need for moderators if there were no n00bs.

oh well, I was kind of think guides. Sorry. Besides I see moderators do stuff other than tell nobbs that they are doing something wrong. Just saying

Telling noobs off isn't the only part of our job. Report spam; we don't have the time to do patrolling.

I know, that's what I'm saying. But if we have Noob guides, that stick w/ a noob and show them what to do for the firstv few days or something, that would help alot.

I don't really understand what you mean. Show them what to do? How?

Hints by the side of the Post Reply page for every newbie. Perhaps creating a new Status, called Beginner. Any newbies will be granted the title for the first 5 days. But, it'll be degreding for them, so no.
