Improving Metagross AT or Better Decks?

Hello everyone! :D
I just started playing Pokémon TCG, I have been playing just one week, and reading in internet and watching YouTube videos, I decided to make a "Handagross" deck (the one with the Metagross from Ancient Origins: Metagross, Deoxys and Miltank) because it was cheap to make, because I'm just starting.

Is there any way to improve this deck? or should I need to aim in making another deck, this time better or more "competitive"? Just in case, I already did this deck, that's why I'm asking if it's better improve it (if it's possible) or make another, you know, because rotations, format, etc.

I've got one on PTCGO where I use Metal Links to accelerate Metagross. Also Lucky Helmet for more draw power. I'm planning on testing out the monkeys from BKT at some point, too.

Thanks for the reply :) I've been testing the monkeys, Panpour and Simipour, with the "good Panpour" for this deck, the one in the Kalos Starter Set, because of "Collect" (draw a card), but can I play with them in Standard format? or should I play with the BKT Panpour?
 
Anything XY related is Standard legal, so yeah, you're good to go with the Kalos Starter Panpour.

Will do. Like I said, my version is currently on PTCGO, but I currently lack Simisage from BKT....plenty of Simipour and Simisear, but no Simisage....

Oh I see, so you want to test all monkeys on the deck, I just tested Panpour and Simipour, to counter the fire weakness of Metagross. Also, I'm not using any psychic or metal energy, just grass (so they come back in hand with Simipour, in case I need energies and because it adds more cards in hand) and DCE.

I'm gonna test the deck and analyze it very well to give it a final rating.
 
Well, I actually want to try to test it with Simisage specifically, first, since Fire Energy has draw power with Scorched Earth and Fiery Torch.
