POKEMON RUBY BATTLE TOWER lv 50 CHALLENGE
Okay I have put a lot of thought into this but still can't find THE BIG THREE to get a least 50 wins.. I have only gotten 47
I Have a lot of lv 50 Pokémon But can't find the results as a team....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
TEAM ONE
GIFsalamence.gif

SALAMENCE@ persim berry
HP:170
SP ATK:146
ATK: 155
SPEED: 103
DEF/SP DEF: 100/100
MOVES: FLAMETHROWER--FLY--DRAGON CLAW--BITE

Salamence's role is to be a special sweeper..Unlike most Pokémon dragons Salamence has pretty good defense. I switch out againts most water pokemon since most know ice moves and I switch out for Dragons because Salamence isn't really fast and will get hit by dragon claw.
GIFmetagross.gif

METAGROSS@ leftovers
HP:162
SP ATK:108
ATK:147
SPEED:93
DEF/SP DEF:155/118
MOVES: PSYCHIC--EARTHQUACKE-HYPERBEAM-PROTECT

Metagross is my MR.Reliable with its great stats I put it when a strong pokemon needs to get hyperbeam'd.

GIFgyarados.gif

GYARADOS@ASPER BERRY (prevents freezing)
HP:171
ATK:135
SPEED:100
DEF/SP DEF:106/109
MOVES:BLIZZARD-HYPERBEAM-DIVE-HYDRO PUMP

Gyarados is the sub for Salamence when an ice beam comes I have a Asper berry on..So basiclly Gyarados takes down does Bulky Water/Ice types pokemon and Dragons.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
TEAM TWO
GIFshiftry.gif

SHIFTRY@scope leans
EARLY BIRD
HP:170
SP ATK:108
ATK:140
SPEED:109
DEF/SP DEF:75/72
MOVES: EXTRASENSORY-FAINT ATTACK-SOLARBEAM-BRICK BREAK

Shiftry is basiclly the same as Salamence but just Physical Sweeper.

GIFgrumpig.gif

GRUMPIG@ Chesto Berry
OWN TEMPO
HP:151
SP ATK:105
ATK: 76
SPEED:106
DEF/SP DEF:79/136
MOVES: CALM MIND-PYSCHIC-REST-HIDDEN POWER (POISON)

Grumpig is a special Tank very reliable but I hate the hidden power move I gave it. I only did that because I was once in a situation where it had to face a dark type so I gave it,it but it barley does damage..

I HAVEN'T MADE AN OFFICIAL 3RD MEMBER OF THE 2ND TEAM

GIFstarmie.gif

STARMIE@White Herb
Natural Cure
HP: 135
SP ATK:144
ATK:85
DEF/SP DEF:94/99
SPEED:140
MOVES: Ice Beam--Surf--Thunderbolt--Revover

This is where the thinking starts. I Already have a SP sweeper that is Salamence. And a Water type witch is Gyarados. So I don't want to put it on Team #1. I don't have a plan for where this pokemon will go..So the quesiton? Where will it go? and who will it replace. Any thoughts?
GIFdusclops.gif

Staller/Tank
DUSCLOPS
Pressure
HP: 111
SP ATK: 76
ATK: 71
DEF: 149
SP DEF: 165
SPEED: 41

MOVES: Shadow Punch--Protect--Toxic--Rest

I put a few EVS into its SP DEF and gave it some vitamins in its HP and DEF
This moveset for Dusclops works well.

FUTURE POKEMON

Furture pokemon #1
GIFslaking.gif

SLAKING
Slake Off-shadow ball-counter-yawn-slash-amnesia
I'm was thinking about breeding for Curse. but I decided not to. Vigorath is still in training. I have no idea what moves should this pokemon have. I listed a few.But I can only pick 4. Any thoughts on Moveset?

Impsish
with this moveset
Sunny Day-Solarbeam-Fireblast-Explosion
I need a rock type pokemon so this could be one....I think it will be good for my team. Even with its lacking Sp Def.Any suggestions?

Timid
Some one suggested me this moveset
Spikes
Roar/Whirlwind
Agility
Steel Wing
I like it, it probably would have to be a starter. Any suggestions?

Future pokemon #4
GIFhariyama-1.gif

Hariyama
I breeded it for cross chop
Its Male
Calm
I don't really have a moveset plan for this yet..Any suggestions?

Thank you for reading. I hope you understand how fustrating it is. I Play Pokemon RUBY on my GBA..this is not an emuloter or Emerald If you recommend other pokemon i should use, please pick the ones only obtainable in RUBY VERSION. THANK YOU

First I want to say that if you do not EV train your team, you will not have a very good chance of winning. A Salamence or a Metagross, with an Attack-increasing nature (e.g. Adamant), 252 EVs dumped into the Attack stat, and a maximized 31 IV in Attack results in an attack stat of 205, at level 50. It's no joke. (My Metagross in Emerald is near-perfect, having 204 Attack instead.)

There are plenty of EV training guides on the Internet that aren't too hard to find. (Make sure to always use the Macho Brace so you get twice the EVs per fight.) For actual sets you can look on Smogon to get some ideas.

Here are places where you can farm for certain EVs:

HP - Marill. Surf in Petalburg City, has a 100% encounter chance, and gives 2 HP EVs.
Attack - Carvanha and Sharpedo. Use a Super Rod on Route 118; either one of them will show up (Sharpedo has a 30% chance of appearing, Carvanha has 70%). Carvanha gives 1 Attack EV, Sharpedo gives 2.
Defense - Hiker Trent on Route 112. Keep going on and off that route until he will rematch you. His best team has 3 Gravelers and a Golem; the Gravelers give 2 Def EVs apiece and the Golem gives 3. You can go Rock Smash hunting, but I find this guy is the most efficient way.
Sp. Attack - Spinda on Route 113. 70% chance of encounter and it gives 1 SpAttk EV. Pretty slow, but sadly, this is the fastest way.
Sp. Defense - Don't remember. I think it's Tentacool. Tentacool gives 1 SpDef EV and Tentacruel gives 2.
Speed - I know with Emerald you have the advantage of Artisan Cave, but I forgot other ways to get Speed EVs. I know Psypoke has a good list of the best EV training locations; look there.

Thanks I have those EV locations in Hoenn I printing a few months back. Um sadly the only pokemon I Ev train was my newest one, my Grumpig.....I wish I would have EV trained my Metagross and Salamence. But I didn't understand that EV basiclly means to train the best stat of the pokemon. My Gyarados has the worst stats because I put Magikarp in day care center and got it out then I evolved it... >_>

Well first off, you can always hatch a new Metagross/Salamence if you want, and putting Pokemon in the daycare doesn't give them any EVs. If you're dissatisfied with what you have now, you can always hatch yourself a new one.

At least you did something with the Grumpig.

Your movesets really are lacking as well.

@Salamence
Fly is not a very good move.. except of course when you need to fly somewhere. I recommend hidden power flying as a good replacement or if you can't do that try brick break or rock slide. I also recommend changing bite to crunch.

@Metagross
Hyperbeam is not a very good move when you need to wait after killing an opponent.
Try this moveset

-Psychic
-Thunderpunch
-Meteormash
-Protect/Explosion

@ Gyarados

Once again you have hyperbeam but now you have two water moves which isn't very effective

- Thunder
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power Flying/ Aerial Ace
- Blizzard / Ice Beam

I tried to give my Metagross Meteor Mash but my Metang would learn if at lv 50 and wouldn't be able to use a LV 50 Metagross in battletower. I'll replace those hyperbeams with something though.

I like the Gyarados moveset you gave me. I needed more variety but I couldn't find it.
I used dive for like a protection move but it only helped a little.
So I'm probably gonna EV train a new Gyarados and give it that moveset.

~~~Thanks
I tried to give my Metagross Meteor Mash but my Metang would learn if at lv 50 and wouldn't be able to use a LV 50 Metagross in battletower. I'll replace those hyperbeams with something though.
Just don't evolve it at level 45. Just do this.
Metang grew to level 50!
Metang is trying to learn Meteor Mash...
*deletes move, and then right after battle*
What!? Metang is evolving!
...it's really really easy to get a lv50 Metagross with Meteor Mash. Really easy. I do it literally all the time.
Okay now I feel so stupid.... =_=...uggg
Well what PokefanJosh said
-Psychic
-Thunderpunch
-Meteormash
-Protect/Explosion
I could have had
-psychic
-earthquacke
-metormash
-protect
......But since I wanted to be a fartface it is what is...SO What should I replace with Hyperbeam
I can't give it thunderpunch because thats a tutor move (witch isn't on Ruby.Sappihre)
Metal Claw?
light screen?
...I wasted Rock Tomb
I'd personally recommend either Shadow Ball or Brick Break. I run an all-physical Metagross in Emerald (Meteor Mash/EQ/Shadow Ball/Brick Break) and it serves me well, although Psychic can still have its place in a Metagross set.
Aerial Ace is a possibility if you're worried about Double Team abusers, but Metagross can usually hit a lot harder with other things.
Okay. What about my futures.
STARMIE
trait: Timid/Modest
ability: Natural Cure
Future moveset
Surf-Icebeam-thunderbolt-psychic- OR Recovery OR Cosmic Power
As far as the Battle Tower is concerned, a straight up offensive Starmie is best. Your set is fine, and so is your nature. It's your preference whether you want it to have more speed (Timid) or more power (Modest).
Slaking...is probably not all that great. I mean, you can abuse Choice Band Hyper Beam STAB'd, but still you only get to attack once every two moves. Dusclops is a great wall but I'm not quite sure what he should have as one. (Just that it can't have Curse, and Shadow Ball is probably a must.)
If all else fails, check Smogon.
Caught me a Timid Starmie EV trained its SP ATT until lv 40 when it wouldn't work. And I think I found a moveset for Dusclops (Tank and annoyer)
Mean look-will o wisp-rest-protect :D x3 :D :D :D
Mean look: to trap
will-o-wisp: because that is the only move that will do any damage for Dusclops
Rest and Protect for annoying
If the only thing that hurts the opponent is Will o Wisp, change it to Toxic. Toxic is going to be so much better, especially with Protect and Rest.
Toxic gets worse every turn. And Curse but I sacrife my HP for that.
Mean look I think might be unnecessary because this isn't compettive battling.
Mean look isn't very good. Change Will-O-Wisp to Toxic.
What are his EV's? I'd recommend another attacking move for him
Try This:
TEAM ONE
[Image: GIFsalamence.gif]
MOVES:
Hydro Pump
Fire Blast
Protect
Toxic
Hydro Pump - Possible if you breed another Bagon
[Image: GIFmetagross.gif]
MOVES:
Earthquake
Protect
Meteor Mash
Psychic
[Image: GIFgyarados.gif]
MOVES:
BLIZZARD
FIRE BLAST
THUNDER
HYDRO PUMP
Using Earthquake and protect is great for double battles, if you give gyrados more defense power such as using those medicines to boost it it should be ok. Also Gyrados is great for singles because of its High HP and capabilities of learning stronger moves.
...that Gyarados set is a bit...iffy. Gyarados is so incredibly bulky, plus it gets access to Dragon Dance of all things, and in a Gen 3 game that's actually pretty hard to stop once it gets going - especially considering what Gyarados can pull off.
Gyarados
with
Dragon Dance
Hydro Pump
Ariel Ace
Blizzard--Thunder--Hyperbeam--Fire Blast
G-Dos has a lot of options
Skarmory Stats
LV50
HP: 149
ATK: 95
SP ATK: 53
DEF: 169
SP DEF: 79
SPEED: 106
TRAIT: KEEN EYE
NATURE: TIMID
MOVES: Steel wing--spikes--agility--Roar
...what are its EVs? the stats don't mean a whole lot unless we know what they are...I mean, 169 DEF is good, but I know it could be quite a bit higher - with a +Def nature, 252 Def EVs, and a 31 IV in Def, I think its Def stat ends up somewhere around 210.
