Standard In love with the Koko (Tapu Koko-GX/Weavile)

I had a neat idea on how to make Tapu Koko even more streamable: Weavile from Steam Seige, which has an Ability to let you take any tool off one of your Pokemon and put it into your hand so you can reattach it later. You would use this when your front Tapu Koko is wounded to drop another one down, use Weavile's ability to get a tool (AKA A Fighting Fury Belt) off the old one onto the new one, and then you can use Acerola on the old one to grab it back up to use again. Another cool thing about Weavile is if you have one Float Stone in play, basically everyone has free retreat because you can use it's ability to take it off the Pokemon that first had the Float Stone and then just put it on the one who needs it. Here's my list:

Pokemon(12):

1x Jolteon-EX
4x Tapu Koko-GX
2x Weavile
2x Sneasel
2x Shaymin-EX
1x Tapu Lele-GX

Trainers (40):

4x Sycamore
2x N
3x Acerola
2x Lysandre
1x Kukui
4x VS Seeker
3x Trainer's Mail
4x Ultra Ball
3x Fighting Fury Belt
2x Choice Band
2x Float Stone
2x Field Blower (Garbotoxin Garbodor may just ruin your day)
1x Super Rod
3x Max Elixir
4x Aether Paradise Conservation Area

Energy (8)

8x Basic Lightning Energy

So, what do you guys think?

I just realized that Acerola would put the tool from the old Koko back into your hand anyways, so I guess there goes my idea lol.

Yup. I don't know about Weavile for this SUM3 deck, but I think the list looks like a good place to start. Behind Tapu Koko GX, Acerola is the card I am most looking forward to playing (getting by boxes tonight so hoping for a couple of Kokos!!!!)

I really like the idea of Jolteon EX in this deck. I do think there needs to be another attacker outside these two though. I get that the idea is to constantly stream Koko so hopefully you rarely need an alternate attacker while keeping Koko fresh, but that 130 damage (160 w/ Choice Band, 180 w/ Kukui) isn't enough in my experience playing against the deck. I was running Turbo Lapras and only found it relatively inconvenient to OHKO a Koko. Granted, that deck seems to not find too many things terribly inconvenient to OHKO, but I think the primary issue with the Koko deck remains true. You blast someone with the GX attack, now what? They can OHKO you, but you can't easily OHKO them. I was thinking maybe a couple of Raikous to take advantage of the stadium (50 damage reduction is pretty sick on an already strong basic).

There is time before that set drops anyway, so definitely things to think about right? :)

I'd love to put a Raikou or two in, what to cut though? Also, with Kukui and a Choice Band Tapu Koko hits the 180 mark in the case you really need it. I really like Weavile still because it makes an insanely flexible deck even more flexible. Lysandre stalls? Give it a Float Stone. Gonna get killed without a Belt? Never fear, Weavile's here! Need more damage? BAM! Choice Band. Also I dont really think Koko needs more damage, the idea is to not let them get one-shotted and just spam New Koko-Acerola old Koko-rinse and repeat. With Aether Paradise and a Belt, Koko effectively has 240 hit points, so good luck OHKOing one. I dont think damage is a problem because Koko is basically a better Mienshao from Furious Fists, which saw a lot of play, and it's damage was forty for pete's sake.

Yep, I get the idea behind the deck and I really like it. I have been digging on this pokemon since I saw the first translation. But facts are facts here. 170 HP isn't much to hit and the only way to keep them alive is to focus on using fighting fury belts instead of choice bands. It reduces your damage output by 20, but it at least allows the strategy to actually work. That's a long way of saying "I think you should dump the choice bands for 2 Raikou :)"

I have been rolling Lapras GX. Lapras GX with a fighting fury belt hits for 170. There is no way to scoop a Koko that got flat OHKO'd. Now, to hit the 210 HP, it takes a lot more work. I have to have a Lapras GX charged up, have a choice band on it, then use Kukui. Again, not *that* hard to do, but it requires a bigger swing of variables to hit than just tossing on a fighting fury belt or a choice band and taking Koko down in one shot.

I get that you are saying the stadium will work to keep them alive and that is true to some extent. However, you can't count on that stadium to be up and there are more ways to kill a stadium than a tool and it only takes one turn to drop a Koko against a Lapras deck (and many other decks). Basically, all of that is a long way of saying that a couple of Raikous add some insurance in the form of forcing your opponent to take a 1 prize pokemon.

But like I said earlier, there is a lot of time between now and when Acerola becomes a thing. In that time, there will bunches of opportunities to play around with the cards to see what works. Acerola will be icing!

That makes sense. Maybe Stadium lock Ninetales over Weavile to keep the Stadium in play? Here's what I was thinking:

-2 Choice Band
+2 Raikou
-2 Weavile (I cri)
-2 Sneasel (Nothing to sneeze at :p)
+2 Ninetales
+2 Vulpix
-2 Float Stone
-1 Field Blower
+2 Switch
+1 Fighting Fury Belt

Thanks for all the help :)
EDIT: People could just use Field Blower which would be bad cause than you cant even play another stadium. Maybe Ninetales isnt a good idea.
