Basically all you have to do is get infernape up with 1 energy and torment things down 120 or less and knock out with malevolent fire. Attach 1 energy and go again. Anything with only 1 attack or an ability is made useless as soon 1 torment gets off. Sure they can retreat but, they can always retreat. Thus taking care of Deoxys, Darkrai, Keldeo, Blastoise, Virizion, Genesect, and a bunch other pokemon that are purely used for one of their attacks like Absol, Thundurus, Black Kyurem Ex, sableye, and so forth.

With Garbotoxin in the mix, it shuts down blastoise decks, weakens VirGen/TDK decks. It also weakens of a bunch of rogue decks that focus on weird gimmicks like Trubbish, made even more in your favor with torment.

Granted a 2nd step deck is never super consistent, but it only requires 1 energy to start and can still hit hard with only the cost of 2 energy.

Any thoughts on what could go horribly wrong with this deck aside from lack of consistency? And i guess silver mirror...

Also any thoughts on actual deck list or changes would be greatly appreciated. Since i'm definitely going to look to trade for the infernapes next league.

Honestly Blastoise is your worst match up. He could go first and get a t2 blastoise, giving him one turn to attach a bunch of water energy. Or they can manually attach to the bench and catchering up a guy wont help unless if you run bangles AND laserbank. Or they (or any deck really) can run tool scrapper and have a turn to do a bunch of stuff. TDK may also be hard considering Kyreum is doing KO to active chimchar and 30 to a benched chimchar...pretty tough for a likely turn one for TDK. If you do throw in laserbank, it would be helpful for VirGen. No self catchers or not being effected by status conditions is a big deal in those decks...and shutting it off helps you greatly.

I could always run frozen city to counter blastoise deck. That way they would need a tool scrapper and a stadium to do any real deluge shenanigans. But that doesn't really do much for TDK. Either way i dont really have fear of actual tournament decks at the league i go to. Mostly a bunch of weird rogue decks that dont work out that well. So i can easily do the same. My only real competition is my roommate who is currently using the trubbish deck and Gardevior/mewtwo.

As for a basic i was thinking either Tropius for non ex attacker that can take on water that runs on the blend, a sableye for junk hunt. Maybe Kecleon if i use prism energy instead of blend since there is definitely enough fire energy since i only need like 6 fire energy at most to use infernapes second attack to knock out 6 pokemon. I could just torment over and over if need be. Also there should be some of turns where i have no reason to drop energy, kecleon could be the prime target for those if its out.

As for a secondary tool i was thinking plasma mirror. This deck is definitely more of a stalling deck with torment. It would greatly help against TDK match up, bangle would only bring its malevolent fire to 150 which, while it is strong. 1 torment is already 60 with a bangle, and then with 150 it would be way over kill and kind of waste energy. Without a bangle its still 30 + 120 for 150 only needing to torment twice and then finish it off with malevolent fire. I could just go with torment 3 times, either way its still 3 attacks, but it doesnt burn energy. Course i could just toss in 2/1 mirror/bangle.

I'll post my current deck list.

3 max potion might be a bit much since it only has 130 hp, could drop a few of those for some stuff.

I would put 3 Float Stone and 3 Silver Bangle and take out the Silver Mirror. It's important for Garbodor to have Float Stone for free retreat. Plus, you could first do 60 damage with Torment, then finish them off with a 150 damage Malevolent Fire. I would also find space for a 2nd Super Rod or maybe Energy Retrieval/Superior Energy Retrieval as you are discarding energies.

Hope that helped!:D

I was thinking about an energy retrieval. Though a superior one seems kind of pointless since I tend to refresh my hand with supporters, nearly every turn. Or at least that is my goal. Super rods are probably the best bet. Though with dowsing machine would make 3 if I added another one, might be too much. I can always use it for something else. Probably tool scrapper.

I could drop a max potion for another super rod. I currently only have access to 2 float stones, I need to trade for more, I was thinking of going as far as 4, until I saw that Infernape has no retreat cost. I guess I could go 3 float stone, 2 bangle. Since I can prevent damage with torment anyway.
