Pokémon - 18
  • 4 Talonflame STS 96
  • 3 Chimchar STS 18
  • 1 Monferno STS 19
  • 3 Infernape STS 20
  • 3 Cyndaquil BKT 18
  • 1 Quilava BKT 19
  • 3 Typhlosion BKT 20
Trainer Cards - 22
  • 3 Super Rod BKT 149
  • 2 Professor Sycamore BKP 107
  • 3 Ultra Ball FAC 113
  • 4 Level Ball AOR 76
  • 2 Scorched Earth FAC 110
  • 2 N FAC 105
  • 2 Float Stone BKT 137
  • 4 Rare Candy PRC 135
Energy - 20
  • 20 Fire Energy

The strategy is to open up with Talonflame, and get any 2 cards you need from his attack to set up Typhlosion first, use its attack to discard Fire Energies. After having 10 in the discard pile, swap with Infernape and hit for 200 Damage - return 10 energies into the deck - repeat.

The deck is on a budget.

How can it be improved? Is the 3-1-3 Infernape line too much?

Thank you in advance :)

This deck has a lot of evolutions, so if you are keen on building this deck then you should add in at least 3 Wally, if you want to change it up then I suggest you try out something like Camerupt-EX (PCL29), Entei (AOR14) or MHoundoom-EX, move them around, play around with the deck and most importantly have fun building it! Once you cut down on the amount of evolutions, you will have more space for staples like N and FFB. Let me know how your testing goes.

I've been tinkering with this idea for some time now. Haven't tried to build this myself yet but was thinking 2-1-2 Infernape would be good enough, figuring you're going to have the opportunity to get 2, maybe 3, shots off with Infernape in a game. You have to unload 10 energy each time, and after the first shot shuffles 10 energy back into your thinned out deck, Typhlosion would have a high chance of hitting hard too.
