Ruling Interesting Darkrai lv.x question

Darkrai L.X – Darkness – HP100
Level Up

Poke-Body: Dark Shadow
All Basic Darkness Energy cards attached to your Darkness type Pokemon gain the following text: “If the Pokemon this card is attached to does damage to any Active Pokemon, that damage is increased by 10.” This Body stops working if another of your Pokemon’s Dark Shadows is already in effect.
[D][D][C] Eternal Darkness: 40 damage. The Defending Pokemon is now Asleep. In between turns, the opponent flips 2 coins, and the Pokemon doesn’t wake up unless both are heads. If both are tails, the Defending Pokemon is Knocked Out.

Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: Psychic (-20)
Retreat: 1

The part in bold is what I have a question about. The way it is worded it sounds like if you have two Darkrai lv.x out they cancel each other's bodies, making both bodies useless. Am I right?

I think it would be extremely strange if this were true so I'm assuming it was a mis-translation but please post thoughts and answers.:)

I'm pretty sure this has been on other cards. It prevents stacking.

Or, it just means if one is already in effect, the other doesn't work

don't you get a choice if you want to use it or not? It means you can't have 2 darkrai lv.X using it at the same time same turn...I think :/ if i am wrong, kill me...or we just find it's a typo or mistranslation.

hope this helps

Correct & like PPP said, this has been on the cards. An example of similar card with the effect like this is Ampharos SW...

But ampharos SW says you just can't USE it if another one has ALREADY been used. Darkrai says it stops working IF ANOTHER IS IN EFFECT and since bodies are always in effect if there on the field(unless a card effect says otherwise) they would both be in effect therefore canceling each other out. I know it was probably to prevent stacking but that would be extremely bad and confusing wording:/

Don't speculate. We don't know this card's proper English wording. He'll probably get the Ampharos treatment, so don't worry about it. ;/

Figured it out, the key word is “Already” meaning if you put a Darkrai Lv.X into play when another is already on your bench, the newer one does not work.

Not for a Poke-Body, you don't. Poke-Bodies are always on (even if you want them off).

Poke-Powers, on the other hand, are always optional.

Why been bother by the words...
It simply means that the Dark Shadow Poke-Bodies are not stackable...
Even if you have two Darkrai Lv.X in play, only one Dark Shadow Poke-Bodies is able to be use....
Is that simple..

You said it yourself. You have a Darkrai LV.X on your bench. Then you Level Up your active Darkrai in Darkrai LV.X. Darkrai LV.X says: This Body stops working if another of your Pokemon’s Dark Shadows is already in effect. Your benched Darkrai is already in effect, so your active Darkrai's body stops working. Because your active Darkrai's body stops working, it's not in effect and thus your Benched Darkrai can use it's body. And your spoiler says: This Body stops working if another of your Pokemon’s Dark Shadows is already in effect.

Edit: From all posts in this thread, i overlooked Po-Po-Pocchama's 2nd post. >.<. And i just wanted to point it out, because the rest (except for Po-Po-Pocchama's post) sounded like spam.

Edit2: ='(. Roxasora125 beat me ='(.

And the "I Didn't Read the Topic AT ALL" award goes to....

Ex Dragon13!

Take a bow.

I believe Po-Po-Pocchama has the right answer, so let's all never post in this topic ever again. :)

If you play 2-2 Darkrai Lv.X, and they are both in play, then only 1 of there Poke-powers can work. Not both of them. Its that simple.
