Discussion Is Alolan Muk GX still viable?

So I'm getting ready to start playing competitively at my lgs and have been torn between running an Alolan Muk GX deck or Alolan Ninetales GX. I have most of the stuff for the Muk deck on hand so I wanted to know if it's still a strong option, at least for a local level.

It's certainly a playable deck but it's not good by any measure.
If you love the idea of special conditions, Muk is pretty much your best bet, but otherwise Ninetales is much stronger.

Alolan Muk will gain a lot of potential with Nihilego and it's confuse and poison ability. I'd suggest testing out some builds once Crimson Invasion releases if you're really interested in the blob.

Still viable? Honey it never was viable in the first place. The problem is all it's damage is tied up in having status conditions which means you have to be able to apply multiple status conditions every turn consistently (because either you knock out the pokemon, or you don't and your opponent will probably remove those status conditions through evolution or retreating).

In expanded you have LaserBank and acceleration cards like Dark Patch that significantly help the deck be more functional but it still will have those same consistency issues.
