Is Tailwind a viable strategy for VGC 2013 Regionals?

I was looking at teams to use for 2013 VGC Regionals and I was looking at Sandstorm, Trick Room, Rain, Sunny, and Tailwind. Tailwind seemed pretty good and fun and was wondering if it would be good in the 2013 Metagame

I was thinking something like

Tornadus
Infernape
Hydreigon
Metagross
Terrakion
Zapdos

Go!

RE: Viability of a Tailwind Team in 2013

It's a bit to discern what will work and what won't. You're really better off play testing this before posting if it's viable. But that's just my opinion. Anyways, if you're going with Tailwind, you're better off going with perhaps two or 3 Tailwind users, and the others slower Pokemon (as clear as I am being). I also don't think Infernape is really needed.

Infernape is one of the better Pokemon in VGC. It Speed Ties Terrakion which is also extremely common. It also helps against the teams Weakness to Scarf Abomasnow.

Infernape is also one of the better Fake Out users due to trumping most of the others with its high Speed, making it a good partner to Tail Wind users in a leading situation.

Your current list just looks like a collection of high BST Pokemon to me, it's hard to tell what sort of plan you have outside of using Tail Wind from just that. If you are looking to maintain the Speed advantage, there are some other things you will want to take into consideration. Namely, an action plan against Trick Room teams and opposing Tail Wind users. Drizzle teams with their Swift Swim users are usually outran if you successfully pull off a Tail Wind, but having plans for common Drizzle lead match ups is vital. Drought is quite similar in this regard.
