DPPt/HGSS Is this a good moveset for Smeargle?

Hi

This is my smeargles moveset evs nature etc.This smeargle is for a double battle team and its teammate is shadow ball,dream eater,nightmare,destiny bond gengar.

Smeargle@leftovers
ability:technician
nature:jolly
ev's:252 speed,252 HP,6 attack
move set:dark void,toxic,defend order,softboiled,

First of all you need a move that induces sleep. That way you can use Defend Order to boost your stats while your oppnent is dead to the world for a few turns. I would try to use a sleep move that almost always hits. I would get rid of Fake Out since Fake Out can only be used once per battle and can't be used again. Then you need moves that do a lot of damage plus have a chance of doing any special conditions. You can have a move set like this. This will probably be a good moveset too.

Toxic
Defend Order
Some kind of sleep move
A move that restores HP if all possible as Smeargle does not last long in battles. Even U-Turn will work if you don't or can't get a HP restore move.:)

Usually, double battles have a sleep clause, so it wouldn't be legal to do that.

I'll post a set later. I'm gonna do some more research.

Smeargle should always be a baton passer, so it's moveset depends on your team. Always use spore, baton pass, a set-up move such as belly drum, dragon dance, quiver dance, shell smash, etc., and then maybe substitute.

Just to let you know,Dark Void is banned in VGC tournaments.(the move,not the user that posted right above me!)

Lol the move not the user. And no it isn't at least not in 2010, I had a friend use it at nationals. Normally level 1 Smeargle with Fake Out user partner = the boss. You fake out one thing, and dark void, smeargle takes the hit goes down to 1 HP, your opponents are asleep and now you can Endeavor them down to one hp =P

Dark Void the move is banned because it violates the sleep clause. The Sleep Clause is where you can only put 1 Pokemon to sleep at a time so for example use Spore like P99 suggested or another sleep move if you can't get spore anyway XD.:)
