Is this a Legit site to buy from? (see thread)

I have very little money. There is no way I could afford a 24 or 36 booster pack. I stumbled across a 18 booster pack box. They want $43. This is decent, considering a 36 box is around $80.

http://stop2shop.com/18x-platinum-packs.html

Is that legitimate? Does anyone recommend a different site? Or a better deal?

Thanks. :D

The NEGATIVE is CARD RATIO. This of course can also be a positive. The standard ratio of foil cards that could be expected from a sealed box is NOT GUARANTEED with these loose packs. You COULD end up with MANY MORE or MANY LESS than expected from a sealed box. There is no way to know as these packs are bundled randomly.

This is very important to remember. Since they offer Singles as well, I wouldnt be surprised if they fished out the foils already.

I 100% Agree with the poster above.

I will go as far as to say that because they sell singles as well I can almost guarantee that they fished out the good cards already.

I never buy booster packs online. Just booster boxes..Official Sealed Booster Boxes.

How would they manage to tell if there was good cards or not? IS there any alternatives?

If you look at the site, it states these packs are unopened (clean and unsearched as they put it), pulled from things like the tins and such, needing the promo card and not the packs.

However, as stated the card ratio is a consideration. It is possible to get all those packs and not find a single Lv. X, shiny, or secret rare, or even anything 'good' (that being a matter of opinion) at all.

I'd say if you want to do it, go for it, it is after all your money. Just don't expect too much.

They can buy something like a tare-scale and weigh the packs. Packs that weigh more will have holos or level x's in them because those cards are slightly heavier and only the smaller scales can pick up the weight differences. This leaves them with packs that they know have no good cards, so they can bundle them and sell them to people to get profit on them.

I'm not sure if it's the same for pokemon but this is common knowledge for us YGO gamers. x)
(It should be the same for pokemon)

That was true back in the day.

Back then, I had an extremely sensitive scale and I could determine which Base, Jungle, Base 2, and Fossil Boosters that had rares in them (with ~90% accuracy).

It is not the case any more since they add a Reverse Holo to every pack.

If they add a Reverse Holo to every pack how does that stop people from getting the holo's and level X's. ?

Still, wouldn't a reverse holo and a Lv.x still wiegh more together?

Ive always been told that any pack that has a Lv X in it has VISUAL characteristics.

Such as more of a curve to the pack or maybe a tiny marking of some kind. I dont know if this is true or not....

No, that stuff wouldn't be true. Nintendo would try their best to make sure people don't know what cards are in the packs. But there's not much they can do about Level X's being slightly heavier, except guarantee a Level X in every pack. x)

The last two packs in a D&P box is always Lv.Xs... Atleast it was that way in stormfront and majestic dawn.

I just weighd a box of rising rivels at a card shop and bot three packs got mismagius x, frost rotom and frossglass g holo just for the recored

They allowed you to bring a scale into the shop? :\

Morals. Weighing or feeling through all the packs just to get the cards is dirty. Stuff like this happens to open packs at Wal-Marts/Targets all the time. Sure people get the rares or unique cards they want, but the others who are paying just the same and "believing" they have the same chance to get good cards end up getting junk.

At coys: morals? look i got morals my morals are that pokemon is just a game so what i weighed the packs, im saving myself money its not like i bought every pack in the box dont get all bent out of shape over carboard dude

Even so, you're cheating us out of getting good cards. Take the good stuff for yourself and leave the trash for the rest of us.
