Discussion Is this Machamp really worth this?

So this site: https://www.highsnobiety.com/2016/07/14/pokemon-cards-worth/ (Forgive me if I can't post links, this is my first post on here) says that the 8/102 Holographic Machamp 1st edition is worth $1000. Is this true? If so, how much would one go for if it still has the original clear packaging surrounding it, I've never opened the thing.

1) The card is PSA Graded which massively inflates the trade price of collectibles
2) This article probably cherry picked the highest prices, didn't take an average
3) The highest prices are probably from Ebay auctions that haven't sold because they are ludicrously high

I mean if you go to a card pricing site (like http://pokemonprices.com/card_price/Machamp#Base+Set__8/102__Rare+Holo) it shows the average price is $10

Sorry to say it: The 1st ed. Machamp Holofoil was a super common card: Every original base starter deck had one in it, which is why it isn't worth much even back then.

There actually aren't any Base Set Machamp that AREN'T 1st Edition. (There TECHNICALLY is, but it's from like a weird prototype deck for leagues or something, and has a red border and text on the back.)

My local card shop has 100's of these that they sell for less than a $1. There's no value in this print of Machamp unless it's graded highly.
