If you're ever questioning the legitimacy of your newly traded Pokémon, here's where you can ask for other's help as to whether it's hacked or not. :)

Hello,

Since this is the trade section, and many of you are trading I think this is the best place to ask:

I got today 2 Diance, both are from Sep 23rd, same IVs, but the trainer from who I have them and nature are different. But they don't have a black little box with Jap in it, and since this event was only in Japan, is it possible that these two Diance are actually hacks?

( PS; I will not trade them away)

RE: Is This Pokémon Legit?

Moved this post to VG New & General Discussion since it's a question, and not an actual trade. ;)

I'm pretty sure those two Diancie are hacked since they're not listed as originating from Japan. As you are right, if a Pokémon is from a foreign country, it should have a black box beside its name stating which country it originates from. (Though, if your 3DS and copy of XY or Japanese, then that black box wouldn't appear.)

RE: Is This Pokémon Legit?

I see, well I will see what I will do with them since the pokemon bank had no issue with them.

Thank you for your help:)

RE: Is This Pokémon Legit?

Hmm. Is your 3DS Japanese and how did you obtain the event? Did you get it in Japan or did you get it from someone who file trades by email? If you got it from someone who file trades by email they can easily edit the files to make them pass a legit and they are no longer legit since they edited the files with a file editing program such as a hacking device. Always be skeptical before you make a trade. Always ask the person these questions before you make any offers:

Where did you obtain the event?
How did you get the event?
What is the OT/ID?
Nature?
Date?
Characteristics?
Ability?
Location?
Pokeball
Ribbon?
HP
Moveset?

With these questions you will be able to hack check any Pokemon before you even get the event.:)

Note: This is not completely hack proof but it will increase your chances of getting a legitimate Pokemon by about 90% and more than likely it will be legit. If you are still second guessing have someone that can check your Pokemon on gen 6 if you are still unsure if the event is still legit or not.:)

So i got this Diancie

Hey guys,

Just a few minutes ago... I traded a Diancie for my Victini via Passerby...

Right after the trade i went to check if this thing was actually legit but i was not quite sure...

So it has the Ribbon...
It has the ID
It has the OT
It has the correct moves (only Reflect and Return are switched up between where they normally should be)
It even is untouched and has the normal gem.
It has 125 HP
It is Mild nature

All just seems like the legit one from Japan...

But when i looked at the name on the right... It stated ''GER'' which is kind of suspicious (although the guy came from germany himself).. and when i scroll to the second tab it states ''Where: Pokémon Movie 14'' I don't know if this is the correct text... But i would've expected something Japanese...

So guys.... What do you think? Is this a legit? Or am i scammed once again?

Thanks in advance:D

EDIT: It seems that the name is ''Diancie'' instead of the Japanese version...

RE: Is This Pokémon Legit?

@ Arzendos, Yes the Diancie is from the 14th Pokémon movie, so that part is right. But the fact that the Diancie is from Germany is questionable, as I'm pretty sure that every legit Diancie should say that it's from Japan. Unless... the German that you traded with used his German copy of XY to download the Diancie from Japan theirselves. So just by looking at your Diancie from in the game, there's no sure fire way of telling whether it's hacked or not.

Not possible to download Diancie from Germany at this time: it's Japan-only at this point, and given the region lock, that leaves only one possibility to explain the case:

If one plays a Japanese region X/Y game inside a Japanese 3DS, but has German selected as the desired language on initial save file creation post-first boot, and attempts to download Diancie using such game, since all events are not affected by chosen language, but rather the hardware region and the associated copy of a game that is designed for use in hardware tailored for use in said region, then maybe the Diancie will be German, despite the fact that it's downloaded from a Japanese-region game, and maybe the box considers language and not the region it came from, and in the process, causing more confusion on whether or not it is hacked, unless you consider the "blue pentagon factor"...

Did you use my above form for checking your Pokemon? If you are serious about legitimate Pokemon this form is very crucial when checking a Pokemon. Always ask the opposite trader this question every time you make an offer for a trade. BEFORE you even make your offer. This way if you do get a hacked event you know it is hacked and then you can report the person. If you are dead serious about trading Pokemon ask this every sing time and on EVERY single event they have for trade. It is not completely fool proof but your chances of getting a REAL event will be much higher XD.:)
