That electrode provides every energy? or does it only provide one at a time?

Electrode L.42 – Lightning – HP80
Stage 1 – Evolves from Voltorb

Poke-Power: Energy Shift
You can use this Power once, when this Pokemon’s HP is reduced to 0 by damage from an attack. This Pokemon is Knocked Out, discard all cards except this card, and attach it to 1 of your Pokemon as an Energy. As long as this card is attached to a Pokemon, treat it as a Special Energy card providing 1 Energy of every type.

[L][C] Ion Blast: 40 damage. You may do an additional 60 damage. If you do, Electrode does 100 damage to itself.

Weakness: Fighting (+20)
Resistance: Steel (-20)
Retreat: 0

"providing 1 Energy of every type." dosent that mean fire water electric grass psychic fighting dark and metal?

It provides 1 energy of all of the types at the same time.

So if your opponent used an attack that said: "If the defending Pokémon has any Grass energy attached to it..." The energy that Electrode provides would be Grass energy, along with every other type of energy.

Yes. The energy that Electrode provides is all of those types at the same time, while still only providing 1 energy.

so if I knocked him out and attached him to Blissey DP2 would it do 100 or 30 damage? its attack does 20+10 more for each energy attached to her

Yeah, I mean 100 t2 and if you can get an active swarm it does it every turn sure does sound boring. O_O

Well, at least they wrote it differently this time, I mean erm, they said it in other words.
This could mean
-they actually mean it now provides 8 energy(which would be highly unlikely)
-they tried to clarify the text on all the Rainbows out there (which obviously didn't work, otherwise I couldn't be posting in this thread now)

I think the 2nd option is the more likely one. The TCG often had problems with clarifying things. That's why the text on cards like the Fossils have changed so often.

Isn't that description of Electrode just a translation by Bangiras of the Japanese card?
If it is, then it's not the official wording and it can't be considered a new way of writing those types of effects.

Oh yeah, that's right. Well, even if it is, this time they still skipped the 'but only 1 energy at a time' part, or the translator just fell asleep when seeing the 500th Rainbow card.
