Is Training Post Usable

For those of you who don't know, trading post says to look at the top four cards of your deck, and pick a trainer card you see there, besides trading post. Right now, I can see a couple copies in decks like Nigh March that need to get there cards out quickly, but what do you think?

RE: Is Trading Post Usable?

It can help you get out of a bad start, essentially giving you an eleven-card hand.

RE: Is Trading Post Usable?

Yeah. Most decks pay 30-40 trainers so this will rarely fail. It's a good consistency card.

RE: Is Trading Post Usable?

The thing is, what do people think it we actually replace in decks?

RE: Is Trading Post Usable?

^Bikes, Roller Skates, and possibly Acro Bike
While those are all OK consistency cards, this one far outperforms all. You don't need to flip or limit your hand down to 1-2 cards to make it playable. While it does under perform in the Toad matchups, we can say that about any consistency card. If you previously ran bikes in a Toad format, then why would it be a big deal to switch to this?
I do not see this card as a 'broken' card or anything amazing, but it does seem like a vital card in some decks thats too good to pass up on. For example, PuffToad can very much abuse this card to pretty much draw any card in the deck. Night march may like it, but I think they might want to stick to acro bikes more.
I do see this card replacing roller skates though.

RE: Is Trading Post Usable?

It could be seen as a MUCH more limited Skyla, and when Skyla is gone, this will probably be the next best thing.

RE: Is Training Post Usable?

I think it'll replace random receiver, and roller skates, but only for the decks that actually use these cards to begin wtih. I've personally never ran any of them in my decks.

RE: Is Training Post Usable?

it might be good in Stage 2 decks. You can fish for one of the pieces of your Stage 2, either Rare Candy or Ultra Ball. When I miss the turn two, I usually have one, but not the other. The only problem is space. Stage 2 decks tend to be tight on space. That might be a problem. Haven't tested with them yet.

RE: Is Training Post Usable?

I think Training Post would be useful in any speed deck, but also many Stage 1 decks, that have moderate space.
