Discussion Is ZoroPod not good anymore? Seems like people write it off in lieu of Lycanroc variants.

I get that Lycanroc variants are good but ZoroPod can still be a force to deal with. In fact, my version of it plays Parallel Cities to help my matchups and in mirrors too. Idk, maybe i'm wrong here but Zoropod is still top deck in format to me anyways.

The meta is very interesting at the moment IMO, there's a lot of Zoroark variants, but also a lot of Buzzwole / Lycanroc etc.

Besides that, there are the 'older' decks like Garbodor decks, Gardevoir decks etc. I think it's not really sure which are best at the moment, Zoroark is great but threatened by so many players playing Fighting decks (which was absent for quite a period before Buzzwole except Gallade I guess...).

You do see the meta shifting to 2HKO decks with a lot of consistency. Seems like consistency is key at the moment.

Golisopod / Garbodor is a good, very consistent deck, as Tord proved in London. The lack of possibilities hitting more than 120 (150 with Choice Band and of course except the GX attack of Golisopod) is the main factor for me why this deck might 'brick' every now and then, since opponents may play Max Potion / Acerola (as well). Sure you might play 4, but that will only work if you're not getting OHKO'd. Personally, I like decks which have OHKO potential so these cards won't work, and therefore I would not choose ZoroPod at the moment, and I think it therefore lost some popularity at the moment, especially since Fighting is quite big now...

Zoropod is still an amazing deck. Top 8 placing in Memphis, won the Turin SPE, and has garnered more CP at league cups than any other deck in current standard format. Zoro/Lycanroc was simply a good metacall for Memphis and had a large number of strong pilots which helped move it very deep in bracket. It's pretty difficult to clearly determine what the best deck in format is atm, but Zoropod still has an impeccable matchup spread and the most consistent engine of any of the tier 1 decks so it'll absolutely still see play at least until Ultra Prism and may still see play after that.

Well, I see that opinions are mixed around but if this makes Zoropod underrated or underused, that's great because I like less mirror matches. And I have a 74% win percentage with the deck so i feel very confident in doing well with it. Lately, haven't dropped a game in the new meta so far. I tech in Parallel Cities in my list to swing things in my favor.
