BW/BW2 Isshu Only Pokemon Battles?

How do you feel about this especially for Wi-Fi battles? It's gonna feel weird making a new Double Battles team without being able to transfer one's from my Platinum game but I might be able to deal with it.

With the Gen V Metagame possibly being a completely clean slate of the metagame in general possibly how do feel about it especially with Pokemon on Smogon tiers possibly becoming obsolete due to incompatibility with Black & White and not enough info on the presumed Transfer Machines If it does exist?

I'll probably just stick with Platinum and SoulSilver since I worked hard on my current teams until I'm told to shift to Black & White with an Isshu exclusive team screwing up my strategies.

How? You can't send Isshu Pokemon onto Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver and vice-versa, plus we don't have enough info regarding Transfer Machines cause evidentally Japan is saving that info for last next month.

I'm tired of waiting Japan, at least make a direct confirmation instead of waiting til the last minute. Pikachu and the Eeveelutions event only too? What's with this Game Freak? -____-

Can't it work just like GSC's Time Machine in that you can trade between the two as long as the pokemon being sent to DPPHGSS only ahs stuff that existed in gen 4? That is if we can even get pokemon from previous generations in-game. Otherwise there'd have to be some sort of Pal Park-like thing.

Pretty sure it'll work like that.

But there isn't any confirmed info regarding that If there is any.

Most of the Pokemon (If not all regarding the spoilers) in Black & White are 5th Gen only so you'll have to do an event to enable backwards compatibility won't you? Whether it's Dream World, Global Link, or for the Zorua/Zoroark event.

I still don't get why Japan is taking so long to confirm this that isn't "indirect". At least be specific... -____-

We still don't know how it will work as in that thread linked there's no 100% proof it's backwards compatible. I'm just sick and tired of Japan being all "hush hush" about it...

Dude. Listen! We are trying to tell u if u can put on the legendary beast than u can do DPPHGSS to BW but NOT vice-versa. It's as easy as Pie. oh and national Dex unlocks say "Hi"

But what about the Transfer Machine that's supposed to allow Gen IV Pokemon onto Black & White? We still don't know much about it. Infact does it even exist in the game? Serebii wasn't being too specific on it when it was leaked from Japan.

There's already been reports of changes to the National Dex in the Isshu Region If there is a National Dex in the Isshu Region. I think Game Freak is trying to revamp it into something entirely new, I guess I'm stuck having to catch non-Isshu Pokemon from the Dream World instead of being able to migrate/trade my trained Pokemon onto Black & White from Platinum and SoulSilver.

How does Nintendo and Game Freak expect to make money off of a Pokemon game If it's exclusively towards Isshu Region Pokemon only? They're like "Oh we'll let you have Pikachu and an Eeveelution of your choice besides the Johto Legendaries and that's it."

How else would you get the shiny beasts into BW, then?

Quit freaking out. It'll be there. You'll be able to get your hard trained pokemon from DPPtHGSS to B&W.

But I have a reason to be freaked out, Nintendo and Game Freak did this nonsense before where you couldn't transfer Pokemon from Red/Blue/Yellow onto Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald because of the drastic changes made onto the Gen III games. Gen I and II didn't have Natures and such until they were incorporated onto the remakes on the DS and Gameboy Advance with HeartGold/SoulSilver and FireRed/LeafGreen.

The Gen I, II, and III games just weren't compatible with eachother and it seems like Game Freak is doing the same thing again just because they don't care about the competitive crowd who plays Pokemon in Wi-Fi battles all they care about is money.

With the Isshu Region hardly containing any non-Isshu Pokemon that you've trained in previous games or the ability to do so at least they believe the franchise will prosper with being region locked from other Generations of Pokemon which I don't think is gonna work. Gen V has alot of changes just like Gen III has that made previous games not compatible and I feel the cycle is being implemented again.

Knowing Game Freak they're probably going to get rid of backwards compatibility just so that they can make more further changes to the Black & White games while alienating it's playerbase and losing sales. Either way you look at it losing backwards compatibility on Black & White especially on future Pokemon titles is a very unpopular move that will cause alot of players to quit the video games for Pokemon possibly.

Omg dude u are not listening! U CAN transfer if u couldn't then how do u get the legendary beast on to BW to get Zoarork!
Now About the dream world. Just because u have only seen eeveelutions and pikachu does not mean they are the only pokemon from the dream world.
Also who says u can't catch non-Isshu pokemon after the national dex. So yeah they could change up the national dex but as with all the previous games u WILL have pokedex completion unlocks which probably includes non-isshu pokemon!
Oh and ofcourse gamefreak cares about cvg because if they didnt there wouldn't even be moves or a wireless and wifi battle rooms and heck, they wouldn't even have battles

I'm sorry but how on earth do you expect the shiny legendary dogs Entei, Raikou and Suicune to be traded from the 4th generation games to the 5th generation games to get your Zoroark? and to trade your special Celebi from the 4th generation to get your Zorua?

I really really really doubt they would make it so you could transfer those pokemon and not all other pokemon.

On top of that, The 4th generation games and the 5th generation games will be on the same handheld, the DS. While the 1st and 2nd generation games were on a different handheld to the 3rd generation games. However 3rd generation pokemon could be transfered to the 4th generation games because of the gba slot.

The case will be the same here, one ds can communicate with another ds so there is absolutely no reason why there shouldn't be the option to trade your 4th gen pokemon to the 5th generation.

I'm pretty sure I've heard that all this was confirmed too.....which makes me wonder what the need for this thread is at all. :/

Forget about the legendary hamsters.

It is CONFIRMED that you are able to transfer Pokemon from DPPtHGSS to BW.

You want to know how. Well, we don't know. Nobody knows. But it is confirmed after all, so why are you worrying? Like I said in the other thread, the whole metagame will probably change, so it's better to redo your team anyway.

Dude listen to what the people are saying. You weren't able to transfer RBY to RSE due to it being on different platforms. Not only that but the technology in the old GBA didn't allow for that to happen. But what was that, 6+ years ago since RSE came out? Technology has advanced and that's how come you could put 3rd gen onto 4th gen. The DS had the game slot for the GBA cartridge. They would never do something stupid as to not allow transfer. That ruins the point of the legendary beasts too. -_-

Anyways it's confirmed. And it doesn't matter what way, wether it's the transfer machine thing, pokemon center, etc. Who cares? The point is you can, so let's move on.

i thought it was already confirmed that a time macchine/ pal park would be in the game a few months ago

do we even need this thread?!?! they're both for the ds so why cant you have a time macchine version of trading?!

Just to make u freak out again. The 3rd game will probably be on the 3dS so now uneed to get a dsi to trade! XD
