Hello PokeBeach readers! Isaiah here, and I am happy to be writing another article for you all! Last time, I discussed Archaludon ex, including discussion about why I wanted to play it in San Antonio if I had gone to the event and also how the deck has potential going forward in this format. As someone who enjoys complicated combo decks with Pidgeot and Dusknoir and has spent the last few months mastering Zard, Budew is pretty much a worst case scenario for me. I genuinely don't know what went through their heads when they made this card, the arguably most diverse meta in the last decade has been reduced to one where three decks very clearly stand out (Lugia, Pult, Garde) and another three are borderline viable (Arch, Ceruledge, Terapagos). Regigigas alone would've been great to bring Zard and Pult down a peg, and they could've come up with literally anything else to nerf Drago.
Meanwhile I won locals with Froslass/Greninja. Sign of a healthy meta right there.

The Grand Tree build seems very tempting but the main issue I have with it is that you're screwed if ANY of the follow THREE cards are in the prizes:
- Grand Tree
- Forest Seal Stone
- Pidgeotto

I don't know about you, but seeing how many times I usually have Rotom V or Lumineon V in my prizes, I am very wary of playing a build that can break so easily due to bad prizing.
