DPPt/HGSS IV's predetermined?

I know if you have an egg, the IV's are predetermined. But, what if it is a roaming Pokemon? Can you save before you catch a roaming Pokemon, and if it doesn't have good IV's, SR for a better one, or are they predetermined when they start roaming? Thanks!

They're determined as soon as you press "a" and set them loose. So you'll have to reset every time, after you've saved in front of the Pokemon.
