Ruling Junk Arm Question: is PTCGO correct?

In the Legacy format there a card called Junk Arm is legal, the card reads: Discard 2 cards from your hand. Search your discard pile for a Trainer card, show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. You can't choose Junk Arm with the effect of this card. Back in HGSS Supporters and Stadiums were not considered 'Trainers' however since BW they have become Trainers. Oddly PTCGO still doesn't let you get cards such as Juniper, Colress, Virbank, etc. is PTCGO Correct

The term "Item" as a type of Trainer Card was not introduced until the Black and White era. During the HGSS era in which Junk Arm was printed, Supporter and Stadium Cards were their own class and not considered Trainer Cards as you have noted. With the introduction of Black and White, Item, Supporter and Stadium cards were made nto three classes of Trainer Cards. A ruling was made that all cards noted as "Trainer" from previous expansions were to be considered as Items, and Supporters and Stadiums would be classed as the appropriate type of Trainer Card. Because Junk Arm is from the HGSS era, when it references "Trainer" it is referring to what are not considered Item Cards, meaning it cannot retrieve Supporters and Stadiums. Compare the ACE SPEC card Dowsing Machine, which is worded very similarly, but because it is from the Black and White Era, is able to retrieve any Trainer Card rather than only Items.
