i noticed so many people use the same decks... it is horrible how many people see a deck online and copy it example infercatty.... now these people think they are the sh3t cause there winning but they have this bullsh!t deck.... whats up with that? and if you have a deck that is not as popular theyll complain that it sucks or that this pokemon sucks or whatever..... like luxray.... he is a cool looking pokemon but since people dont like his card they complain about it or try putting people who use it down.... let me remind you that some people actually play for fun....

why cant i play with pokemon i like without being Criticized that they suck? let me play for fun?
example i was using empoleon and some other crappy pokemon and people where like you should take them out it will work better with this other poke blah blah..... maybe i rather use my pokemon instead of some pokebeach ripp off.....???? does anyone agree or dissagree ? comments?

Most people dont copy a deck online, they base their ideas around it and use it as a guideline, some people do copy it exactly, but I woudnt swear at them for it, its their choice what they do and I dont really care!

You have to learn to play with a deck. If I copied last year's winning deck every card and went to Worlds, I would probably end last place (if that deck still was legal, but that's beside the point).
The point is that those players you see winning with popular decks actually have tried those decks out like a 1000 times and improved them in their own way, so that they could play with it most effectively.
Still, I never play with a popular deck. Just because I want one of my own combos to become popular too, and I'd hate to be facing a deck I already know through and through (a copy of my own, that is).
And Luxray is a cool looking Pokemon, I can't deny that. But it's a bad card. Really bad. 4 energies to attack once, then you need to switch him out somehow since all your energies went to another Poke. I will always complain about this, since I'd rather have some competition, which means facing other good cards.
And I know some people play just for fun, but I find tournaments the most fun of the game. If you want a non-tournament Luxray deck, I won't stop you. But I think you, too, would be having more fun if you're developing skill in finding working combos to create a deck around. And, with that, in winning frequently and earning those snatchy badges twice as fast. xD

*sigh*...

Ok, first of all, most decks such as Infercatty, Mario, and other decks that people may "copy" as you said are well known around the metagame. Most people will be able to build the deck themselves, because the deck's are so obvious most of the time. I mean, c'mon. Infercatty is obviously Infernape + Delcatty, and anyone who goes to tournament's regularly would know how these decks are built.

Second of all, its not a big deal if a deck is copied. If its someone's idea, such as a combo between two cards that hasn't been thought of yet, then so what? Why is it so bad? Its not like people keep the same deck for every toturnament. Beleive me; they change their decks quite oten, so copying one deck isn't so bad.

So, in conclusion, if a deck is copied, its really no big deal. Most of the people doing the copying are kids, so, they have time to learn ethics :)

seriously guys, good replys, i am stuck because i dont really have an answer....

but do you blame me for playing with pokes that arent as good and losing....

yes a least is your own idea and don't copy deck a then they do decks agaings you if you don't copy deck is going to be more essay becouse they make decks vs the copy deck and you loose so the people who use that deck looses vs another new deck and the no copy deck win becouse they don't know what to do vs you

I don't think it's wrong to copy a deck, but the archetype is there to spruce ideas. Infercatty is used, but some people might play it a different way. It's nice to come up with your own combination, but there's nothing wrong to build a deck around a combo. Heck, SPEEDO(Speed Empoleon my style) is almost like Beach's sample Empoleon list. I mixed it up a bit and nothing bad happened.

Archetyping is natural, if something works, people are going to want to play it.
There are only so many decks you can come up with that will work, and the ones that work best usually become archetypes.
People who copy these decks arent n00bs or bad players, they simple took an idea and used it as there own.

Why is archetyping a problem? If i know what you are playing, i know how to beat it, and can play accordingly.
If you have no idea what i am playing (a rouge deck, for example), then i automatically have an advantage over you.
Seriously, if people wish to play archetype decks, there is nothing wrong with it.

i guess the thing that really gets me mad is that i destroy people with infercaty cause i have a water deck.... then they act like im really good....

but if i lose to a deck that is exactly on pokebeach i hate when they try to give me advice like im stupid... and the advice that i get is something i read here....

Dealing with people like that is easy for me, usually i just snarl at them and they either walk or run away.
But if they are simply offering helpful advice, whether useful or not, I usually listen.
Its polite to a person who is taking their time to help me, and sometimes they say things i had never thought of before.

i know when you are being polite and who is acting like they are the best pokemon player..... and trust me i really apreciate those people who have been honestly helping me....

see, what i did with the battle roads was play this amazing blissey deck that i had help building. noone complained. i won the first 3 that i went to, then got 2nd at the 4th. i won my 5th BR, and the whole time, my friend had been building a deck that just killed blissey! so i ended up 2nd cuz im weak and he won his only BR. However, the whole time i had little fun using the deck, the games sometimes made up for that. I usually build a competitive deck and 1 or 2 fun decks. works for me, but please, but complain that someone uses an internet idea for a deck, its their loss/gain. its like you playing whatever you play. its your loss or your gain. your choice.

its not about if i want to win or not...... its really how you handle yourself while doing it.... if someone beats me with a internet deck and acts like an ass thats annoying, if i beat a kid playing a deck that sucks but he is proud of sticking by his pokemon, now that i will respect .... i know i can win and it is my choice that i rather have some respect of not being an ass..... and i can also respect someone using infercaty if they beat me as long as they handle themselves in a respecteble manner.....

people build decks no matter what you come up with someone will have probably come up with too you just have to get used to it i really doubt it'd be possible for everyone to come up with there own deck and if they do someone else will probably have almost that exact same deck although it is really annoying when people just play for ranking or to win even if I was 0-9 id finish a tourney i play for fun whats the point of playing the game if your just gonna drop because your losing i also don't like how some of the players who think there all that are jerks to other players you shouldn't beat someone and say your deck sucks you should say good game and offer a suggestion to help there deck i always do this often i even give new players cards that would help there deck if they say darn i never got my only ramparados out etc i will offer them one if i don't need it

good reply ^
i know you cant really make a unique deck because my 8 year old brother used "mario" and he has never even been on the internet.... so i know duplicates will be out there....

oh by the way my record is is 19-13 since DP came out so i am not exactly losing all the time.....

but yeah like you said, that is a class act and people should be more respectful....
maybe i come out as a little punk but i am not your average card game player.... i just have a little kid inside... and i guess i wrote this to ask people to be a little more respectful because so far i have not met a player i couldt knockout in a second, and i am trying not to get there.... i see little kids getting picked on and i am not just going to let that happen

I am sure that we all try to help you making a competitive deck. If you don't want this to happen just specify that you want to use a certain combo and that you want to use it in casual play. Good luck, and sorry if any of us has been a bit rude.

rude actually no one has been.... but i think you have the wrong impresion.... its not about giving help its about giving stup!d remarks like "oh you shourld use delcatty with infernape" in a way that sounds like you invented it.....

people dont usually act like idiots if they win with netdecks. so what if they beat you with a deck that isnt theirs? at least it won! if you're having fun not winning and using the pokemon you like, ok. if your having fun winning with a netdeck that you dont like(me), OK. its your choice just quit whining and have some fun.....

lol... ^ big man relax .... its about the people with internet decks picking on lil kids after winning with "their" deck... if it was me i would have been banned from pop for breaking someones jaw.....

the point: please be toughtful of peoples choices, if you want to help please dont be rude ....

also ive noticed alot of these rude people are pokemon professors.... those that really change the fact that they are nerds, because they seem to take it like they are god and can do no wrong/know everything...

I find this thread pointless due to the fact that we are limited to the amount of cards we can play. There are about only 5-10 satdiums out so who cares if someone plays the samae stadium as someone else??? We only have 7 sets to work with so obviously some cards will become popular. If you don't like people who copy other decks then thats their problem!!! NOT YOURS!!! I am all about the spirit of the game and the fun but, when I go to a tournament I like to bring my own ORIGINAL deck that I have thought of. I can side with you on some points but, you are swearing (literally) about a game. Play however you want to people and it doesn't matter who tells you otherwise. If you want to play an Archtype then be my guest (the same goes for original decks).

Buddy, kids go on this website and your just being rude.
That is all I have to say.
BTW, I reported you for swearing (This goes to increpar)
