There is no Kadabra MT on Redshark. Where can I get fix for it?

I apologize for placing this thread in the wrong section, but it was the only way I could get your attention. Besides, it is a question about TCG, is it not?

There is no Kadabra card in MT....

Years ago, a guy named Uri Gellar sued the Pokemon Company for making the Dark Kadabra card, thinking it was based on him. (He was a magician.) Since he sued them, they have not been able to produce a Kadabra card, hence why there is none in MT.

There is no Kadabra MT. Kadabra hasn't been printed for years do to a lawsuit in Japan about a guy saying Pokemon copied his lifestyle and stuff like that.
Edit: Aww someone got to it before me.

Yeah, yeah, QFT and all that. They're right, it has to do with Uri Gellar. Which is why whenever a Pokemon fan hears his name they boo him. Or is that just me? :p

I don't see how placing this in the WRONG forum gets attention, and it IS a question about the TCG, but not a ruling question. Which is what the forum it was in previously is for. *Moved to TCG Discussion*

ah yes. forgot abra could jump straight to alakazam. that was nice. i wasnt gonna be happy if i had to depend entirely on rare candies after all

so how did that guy find proof to successfully sue the company? i mean couldnt they have just said it was coincidence and repel the lawsuit?

LOL

Next time somebody tries to sue me, I'll just "repel" the lawsuit and not have to pay any money. :D

You have completely misread my post....

I said couldn't they have repelled it on the grounds that the guy was SPECULATING on this and that any similarities are COINCIDENTAL. You can't win a lawsuit without solid PROOF.

The Kadabra was depicted bending spoons (Uri's speciality), with weird stripes all over the place (Uri's body art) and the Japanese name is even Yungerer, especially close to the other guy's name. You can't claim coincidence from that. The spoon things could be explained away but the art and most obviously the name can't be thrown out.

He is some weiner that did kids partys, WHY WOULD POKEMON COPY HIM?!

http://www.pokebeach.com/scans/skyridge/69-kadabra.jpg And yet, everybody manages to forget that kadabra was printed in skyridge, 3 years after the lawsuit.

In my oppinion it's stupid: some weird guy slightly ruins the game for atleast 900000 people.

I agree. at least the current abra compensates for the problem. I guess Uri couldve been what they had in mind when they designed kadabra. too bad he couldnt just consider it a nice tribute and be done with it. oh well. water under the bridge now.

Oh, yeah, the other thing was when Dark Kadabra was out in Japan it turned more or less into "Evil Yungeler". Might have been a touch offensive.

If I hear one more thing about no Kadabra, I'm going to scream
Uri Geller on Wiki
Now here's the reason why:
Wiki said:
In November 2000, Geller sued video game company Nintendo over the Pokémon character "Yungerer," localized in English as "Kadabra," which he claimed was an unauthorised appropriation of his identity.[65][66] The Pokémon in question has psychic abilities and carries bent spoons. Geller also claimed that the star on Kadabra's forehead and the lightning patterns on its abdomen are symbolisms popular with the Waffen SS of Nazi Germany, and he was outraged at the connotations that Nintendo had supposedly made.[66] Although the symbols are derived from Zener cards, the name is a pun; the katakana n (ン) resembles the kana ri (リ) (the transliteration of Mr. Geller's name into Katakana would be ユリゲラー Yurigerā). Geller sued for £60 million (the equivalent of US $100 million) but lost.

So why hasn't it been out yet? It's been 8 whole years when it was over.

That sucks. Why would he sue them? I'd be honored xD
