Keldeo/Etherdex

Hey guys, I saw this deck recently and decided to build my own list. It's very good with early pressure, and has lots of options. It's basically like Big Basics, except it uses Keldeo instead of Landorus. My current list is:

3 Keldeo EX
3 Mewtwo EX
2 Bouffalant DRX
1 Tornadus EX (generally useful and a very good card early-on with Laserbank, but I might cut it for something as it's not critical)

4 Juniper
4 N
2 Bianca
2 Skyla

1 Bicycle
4 Ether
4 Pokedex
4 Hypnotoxic Laser
4 Catcher
3 Ultra Ball
2 Switch
1 Scramble Switch (ACE SPEC)

2 Virbank City Gym

4 DCE
10 Water (might drop to 9 for something, but 10 helps with Ether and I still find myself whiffing a fair amount)

It's done pretty well in testing, but it's a tad inconsistent. I'd like to fit in more supporter draw or Bicycle, and I'd like to fit another switch and maybe Eviolite or Max Potion but it's very hard to fit in stuff in a list like this that has so many components.

And a lot of components it has. This is why you can't really go crazy with Etherdex. You devote eight slots to Ether and Pokédex that you don't have room for everything. This doesn't mean we can't help you. First, start by dropping the 4/2 HTL/Bank stuff. That is not the focus of the deck. Because we're getting rid of the Stadiums, take out Tornadus as well. In place of those seven slots, add two more Skyla, (so that you can actually pull off the EtherDex combo T1 if you get one or the other), a Super Rod, (to get back Energy and dead Pokémon), an Energy Search, (an Energy is just a Skyla away, just in case you don't draw into one), which leaves you with three slots open. You could max out the Bicycle if you wanted, run Random Receiver, or try Lunatone out for a spin.

Laserbank is the strongest point in this deck. It singlehandedly makes most matchups much easier and gives easy outs against Mewtwo, Landorus (if Keldeo isn't ready), opposing Bouffalant, Terrakion, Sigilyph, Kinklang decks, Darkrai, Sableye, and more. I'm not dropping it (test the deck first before you judge, because anyone suggesting that probably hasn't played a big basics deck with Laserbank).

Tornadus I might drop, but I'm not sure yet. It's a very good card in general, and Laserbank/DCE/EtherDex make it amazing in the early-game, aside from being perpetually good against fighting types, but it is something that I don't NEED. I have to test more to decide. I'd definitely add Bikes or Bianca before I add another Skyla, since it's just not that great of a supporter most of the time. It helps, and 2 is a good count in here, but more would clog hands.

I don't need Super Rod given my higher energy count and thick enough attacker lines. Also, Energy Search WOULD be good, but I'd rather have energy to discourage Ether whiffs. Having energy in hand is almost never a problem for me.

I've seen decks that use Manaphy PLS+Etherdex to power up Keldeo EX. The list is something like this:

4 Manaphy PLS
3 Keldeo EX
2 Fliptini
1 Lunatone PLS

4 Ether
4 Ultra Ball

16-17 Water

I might try that, but I really value my early attackers and don't know if I have space for those. As said, this deck really does play a lot like big basics except with Keldeo over Landorus. Not sure about Manaphy, but I might test it out sometime.
