I had awakened at around 3 in the morning simply because I work overnights so my body is used to being up at that time. I take the opportunity to catch up on some rulings and order some of the new items at the Professor Store. After this I work on our Pokemon Online Server scripts for a fair bit of time trying to get scripts just right for channel authority.

I end up leaving around 9 to head to Jeff's then rode with Colleen from there. We arrive before the store opens so we walk to McDonalds and grab a bite to eat. Once we got inside I had to help set-up the computer and playing area a bit. I then fill out my list and get registered. I decided to play Tyram in the tournament becuase I had been playing it all year and it won me a BRs in the fall, though the build used different Pokemon and trainer lines. Full list will be at the bottom of the report.

Round 1: Me vs Alex S. w/ Tyram

It turns out Alex was also playing Tyram. He can't draw into anything while having many basics on the field. I get set up in a fair amount of time and win.
Record: 1-0

Round 2: Me vs Soari (spelling?) w/ CMT

He has two Smeargle right away from what I remember. He basically completely crushes me. Every time I would get a Cyndaquil it would get Catcher KO'd.
Record: 1-1
Side Note: At this point Alex was 0-2 and dropped.

Round 3: Me vs Hannah w/ Reshiboar

Before this round started some random prizes were given out. My opponent had got one of them. She gets out an Emboar fairly quickly while I get out 2 Typhlosions in a decent amount of time. Her Reshiram EX took two prizes before I was able to KO it thanks to her flipping heads every time she used its 150 attack. I believe her next turn she used Fisherman to get back 4 {R} energies and attached 3 to a Reshiram and got a Blue Flare KO. I end up getting a Pluspower for a OHKO using Reshiram. The rest of the game doesn't go well for her even though she got the Reshiram EX back with Super Rod though she didn't end up drawing it.
Record: 2-1

Round 4: Me vs can't remember name w/ Darkrai / Klingklang / Kyurem EX / Mewtwo EX.

I knew this match-up was going to be tough. This deck had done very well at the previous BR I had judged at, taking 2nd iirc. We both don't get great starts. I had started with Entei EX. After a couple turns when I had energy, I Catcher KO'd a KlingKlang with Entei. The Kyurem EX never was really much of a problem because I got the energies stuck on their Darkrai EX. Once I Catcher KO'd a second KlingKlang, that really helped. By that time I had 2 Typhlosions in play and a Mewtwo EX with a DCE and 2 Fire Energy attached to it. At one point he had up Darkrai EX with 3 energy attached to it. I had to retreat my Entei to get fire energy in the Discard Pile. I did 2 Afterburners to Mewtwo and attached my energy for the turn on Mewtwo giving it a total of 7 energies. I then OHKO his Darkrai EX. That was the highlight of the match. The game was mostly over at that point and I won. One thing that helped me is my opponent prized their Mewtwo EX although I could easily revenge it back since I had a lead going.
Record: 3-1
Side Note: Based on how pairings worked out, all 4-1s were going to make top cut.

Round 5: Me vs ? w/ Zekeels

I finally had the opportunity to face this deck. I had seen it perform well in the past. Early on in the game I get a Catcher KO on an Eel while he has little momentum going. I didn't have great set-up for a while either. He never really draws into much despite playing a couple Supporters. The match had taken a fair amount of time before prize cards started actually getting taken. Eventually I start going on a spree with Reshiram taking out a bunch of Pokemon.
Record: 4-1

Top 4: Me vs Soari w/ CMT

Game 1: I never really get set up. Every time I get a Cyndaquil it got KO'd just like in Swiss. After he took 4 or five prizes I scoop to save time.

Game 2: This game could've easily been mine if it weren't for extremely bad luck. Near the beginning of the game I would've destroyed his Regigigas EX with for game since he couldn't get more Pokemon, but he top decked Random Receiver. he went through 15 or so cards before getting a Supporter. None of the cards he was revealing would've helped him. I believe he got a PONT with it. From there he started to wreak havoc since I had misplayed early in the match and not used a PlusPower before using a PONT. I fell 10 short of a KO when I had Reshiram Blue Flare it. I was also shy by a couple energy using Mewtwo. There comes a time when he is at 2 prizes while I am at 4. I play Twins. If DCE would not have been prized, I would've won the game. I would've KO'd his active Mewtwo and he couldn't KO me back to where I'd get my prizes.

Props:
-Ray and Andi T for judging
-Colleen for driving me there and running the tournament
-The Source for the new location being much larger plus the emergency exits never got bumped.
-3rd place
- Victory Cup Bronze
-Traded some BW packs for cards
-Seeing Nigel and pokemonmbl

Slops:
-Alex S going 0-2 drop
- No CP because there wasn't 32 in the Masters division ( This really should be reevaluated. )
-The two packs had nothing
-Nigel for not playing

<3 your list. Good job man, we're BRONZE CUP BUDDIES :D CMT is easily your worst matchup unfortunately :\ See ya at nats.

Rotten luck on your last match! Great job, I've pretty much always liked Reshiphlosion. Fun deck, I like your version, although I would've gone with 4 Cyndequils, and maybe 4 Typhlosions. But you do run Entei, which helps get fire out of the discard.

Entei EX I used only because I didn't have a Reshiram EX which I traded for after the tournament. It was really dumb having to attack with Entei as long as I did game 4 because I couldn't hit a Collector. I think actually taking out a Reshiram for a Regigigas EX would be worth trying. It is easy enough to power up with Typhlosion plus I use 2 DCE anyway.

Hey, your match is on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9PPR7sIrb0&feature=g-u-u

I knew it would be. Bullados asked Soari and I if he could record our match and we agreed to it.

@Last game of T4: Even if the DCE wasn't prized, he had game. He benched a Mewtwo, and I saw the third DCE in his hand.

Just from watching the video, I don't understand why you played the T1 Catcher. Sure thing he could OHKO your Cyndaquil, but he's going to drop a Skyarrow Bridge anyways, since he's playing MTC. To me it seems like a waste of a Pokemon Catcher that could be put to good use later in the game once he dropped a Mewtwo/Celebi, but either way congratulations on doing good and PROVING that TyRam can still do good in this metagame.

Should have asked me. I usually have most EXs on me. Now you know for when I come back for tournaments in MN next format. ^_^
