Kingdra Prime (HGSS up + New BW Rules applied) PLEASE CRITIQUE!

Pokemon: 24

4-3-4 Kingdra Prime
2-2 Magnezone Prime
2-2 TR Ambipom
2-2 UD Umbreon
1-1 HGSS/CoL Slowking

T/Supp/Stad: 25

T:
4 Rare Candy
2 Research Record
3 Pokémon Communication
2 Switch
3 Pokemon Catcher (I think that's what it's called, from the BW set soon to come out. Works like Luxray's brightlook.)
1 Alph Lithograph (Triumphant)

Supp:
2 Pokémon Collector
2 Prof. Oak's New Theory
2 Int. Questions
2 Sage's Training
1 Flower Shop Lady

Stad:
Ruins of Alph

Energy:11
5 Water
2 Dark
2 Rainbow
2 Double Colorless

Strategy:
This deck is focused around Pokémon with low energy cost with a lot of output. Kingdra and Ambipom are the bread and butter of this deck. Magnezones for draw power and late game sweeping. Umbreon is a universal card that can be a Scizor prime or Gengar prime counter. This deck is heavily dependent on rare candy.

Other Thoughts:
Considering that rare candy will be nerfed and second turn donks are now impossible this would be the only alternative to dealing with the slow format that's ensued. This deck used to be a Kingdra/Machamp variant donk deck but seeing how the format is kind of up in the air I thought I would see how an HGSS+ version of this deck would hold up. I'm not too sure if Pokemon Catcher is going to be in the BW base set so that is a variable choice. Please excuse any grammar errors.

Please critique! Thank you :]

Magnezone Prime is a Stage2 Pokemon. 2-2 Magnezone Prime?

And Pokemon Catcher will not be in the new B/W set.
(It'll probably be released next B/W set. Or hey, you never know; it may never be released!)

Slowking's for Magnezone right? To see what cards you can draw or to change up what you will draw with Maggy's Ability?

I'm not sure why Ambipom's in there. There's not much use for it here, since this deck's not exactly disruptive unless you run Judge.

Ruin's of Alph is okay, but the only use for it would be against Jumpluff...which would be the reason why you only run 1 of the stadium.

Not enough T/S/S.
2 Pokémon Collector
2 Prof. Oak's New Theory
2 Int. Questions
2 Sage's Training
1 Flower Shop Lady

You need to bump up the Collectors, the PONTs, & the Interviewer's Questions. If you run Magnezone Prime, maybe squeezing in some Judges? Sage's Training is worthless since there's Cheren in the next set.

Umbreon as a Gengar Prime counter does not work. Umbreon only does 60~100 with SPDark Energy & Weakness. Besides, Gengar Prime is meant to LZ Pokemon in your hand; very rarely would a Gengar Prime try to attack Umbreon.

I guess overall...
-[2-2] TR Ambipom
-2 Sage's Training
-2 Dark or Rainbow Energy
-2 Double Colorless
[-10]
+1~2 Pokémon Collector
+1~2 Prof. Oak's New Theory
+1~2 Int. Questions
+2~3 Cheren
+2 whatever-you're-missing-from-the-Magnezone Line
[+7~9]

2-0-2 Magnezone prime, sorry lol.

Thank you for notifying me about the Pokemon Catcher.

Yes Slowking and Research Records is for fishing out the Magnezone

Ambipom is in there because it's is a pretty nice addition being that it's stage one, 1 DCE for 60, and it can also be disruptive. I was thinking about putting Judge in there instead of Prof. Oak.

Cheren just seems like a buffed Bill. I think 3 Int Questions might be a bit excessive though. I could put 2 Judges in actually in replacement of the 2 Sages.

Thank you for your time and criticism :]

I've updated my post lol.

By the way, if you're mainly using Rare Candy to evolve, I think you should put in some Magnetons. If you've used Rare Candies for the Kingdra Primes, you'll be left with dead Magnezone Prime draws. "I've used up all my Rare Candies but I have a Magnezone and a Magnemite in my hand. GHHAHHHHHH!!!"

Yeah I saw that lol. I should probably put one in there but thats the reason why I have 2 seadra in my deck. My Kingdra/Machamp deck was actually ran with a 2-0-2 machamp line and that rarely happened to me, if it has ever happened. It is kind of a struggle to find rare candies though so It would be a smart idea to add a magneton in.

Well, your 2-0-2 Machamp worked fine probably because you ran Broken Time-Space for your Kingdra Primes, no?

I ran 2 but then I eventually took them out because I could never draw into them.

Interesting.

Well, about Cheren vs Sage's Training...

I'm just not sure why you'd have Sage's Training in the first place. Nothing you'd discard will help your gameplay. Cheren guarantees 3 cards by draw. You can play Engineer's to draw 4, but as I said, nothing you discard would help your gameplay.

The reason why I was thinking 4 Interviewer's Questions is because you have very little Energy. Yes, it is Kingdra Prime and it requires only one Energy, but in a rotation where we have no Uxie and the fastest draw power we can get is a T2 Magnezone Prime (if one is lucky), Energies will be pretty difficult to draw into. Especially the ones you need. But, since you have Magnezone Prime, I guess 3 Interviewer's Question's is enough.

Still not too sure about Ambipom being in there. But if you're keeping it in there, you're keeping it in there.

Also, what's the Rainbow Energy for? Is it for Magnezone Prime as a backup attacker? I guess it could work...but wouldn't the Dark Energy be unnecessary?

The rainbow energy is mainly for magnezone but can work with kingdra and umbreon also. The basic darks are in there incase of a scizor prime run-in.
