Ruling Lake Barrier/Walrein ex PK

if u had Walrein ex PK active and u use wreck with Lake Barrier in play against a fire pokemon, do u discard the stadium 1st and then do damage, or does the attack do x2 and then u discard the stadium?

Wow, good question. I looked around the compendium and found an old ruling that you could apply to this:

Q. Space Center is in play. When you play Shedinja as a Basic Pokemon by using Ninjask's "Loose Shell" PokePower and Shedinja is Knocked Out by "Wreck" done by Primeape (which also discards the stadium in play), can I take a prize card?

A. No, you can't. The Stadium card is discarded after damage but before Shedinja is Knocked Out from the damage. So Shedinja's "Empty Shell" would reactivate prior to it being KO'd, and you would not get to take a prize. (Jul 13, 2006 PUI Rules Team)

So it says that the Stadium is discarded after damage. That would mean you still get the 2X Weakness, and this is a ruling on the same attack that Walrein EX has. If you expect to play the card at tournaments it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a printed copy of this at hand if the question arises.

Thnx, i wuz planning on using Lake Barrier w/ Walrein ex PK. that way i can knock Infernape LV.X out in 1 hit.
