I recently started playing the pokemon tcg again after taking a break for about 4 months and apparently everyone is hyping Landorus/Lucario so I built the deck which I'm quite proud of to be honest (considering that I managed to get basically the entire deck including 2x landorus just under the course of 1 day O:
Enough with the praise, on to the main subject.
So anyway, as I said earlier, I really need some help with deck and some of you may have noticed that I posted a reply in the "quick competetive forums" where I expressed my dislike in garbodor. But as of know, I'm still debating of whether I should play it or not...
My current deck Is currently at 64 cards which IS illegal, I know but I would really appreciate some feedback on how to fix it
Our locals is going to hold a battle road tournament tomorrow and I'm planning to use the deck in the upcoming tournament.
Well, let's get to the main subject, shall we?
Oh and btw, I'm still quite terrible at the game, misplays all the time >_>
Pokemon:
So, what do u think of this deck? It's currently at 64 cards so I really need some advice of whether I should run raichu/garbodor or not.
A reply would be appreciated and remember, most of these are my own terrible theories and I haven't even playtested at all with this deck yet...
I'm open to criticism!
Raichu: The reason that I decided to run these two was mainly due to their ability hit Yveltal and in rare cases, lugia. Since Yveltal is a quite annoying card to this deck (fightning resistance and evil ball) however, it depends if yveltal remains prevalent, at my current standpoint, I'm not sure if I want to run them at all
It's also good against safeguarders and pyroar
Landorus EX (Main attacker of the deck, I chose to run it in higher number than Lucario since I felt that It didn't have the psychic weakness and a first turn is godly to the deck. And hammerhead is just broken with all the fightning support.
Lucario EX (The other main attacker in the deck, I mainly use it for Missile jab and the incredible corcrew smash that runs beautiful with N. However, it do have it's flaws. The first and most obvious one is it's weakness to mewtwo and it's energy costly attacks (Since most of the pokemon in this deck only require 1 energy to attack) and if you attach 3 energy for sommersault kick (which I use very rarely) makes it an open target for mewtwo) So in conclusion, I feel that landorus is a bit better, therefore I run only 2 copies of it.
Mewtwo ex (I chose to run 2 mewtwo ex since it's very good in the mirror and against toad decks which are very prevalent at my locals. It's also good to have a second one in case you run into mewtwo wars)
Mr mime (I'm really iffy about this card. It is very good in the mirror with hammerheads and other annoying stuff but in the other hand, it creates a paradox if you chose to run it alongside garbodor. I have a really hard time deciding if I should play it or not)
Landorus (FuF) Energy acceleration, a thing that this deck lacks and it's especially good in late game. I felt that I only had the space for 1 though.
Garbodor: I've got quite mixed feelings about these two. and I think that I explained most of it it my previos post. However, I feel like it depends on your locals meta if you're gonna play it or not since garbotoxin as useless and a dead weight against the mirror and toad.dek
On the positive side though, it's fantastic against safeguarders, pyroars and other abilities which this deck struggles against:/
Personally, I feel that you either run this or raichu, but I may be wrong...
http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/thread-quick-competitive-play-questions?page=4 <- Link to my opinion on running garbodor
N is a fantastic disruption card, especially with lucario. However the reason taht I not decided to play 4 was due to deck space and It's a dead weight when you've taken a lot of prises (Which this deck does quite fast) However, I may put in a fourth one, I just haven't decided if I want to yet.
Korrina, it's fanntastic in this deck: However I feel that three is enough due to deck spaces and the limited about of fightnings you can search
Lysandre: I'm currently debating If I want to run 1 or 2. It's mainly due to it being just too good to get those suprise KO:S especially on stuff like treevenant and damaged ex
Professor's Letter: It searches your energies, however. With all the darw supportes and other stuff, You won't really need more than 1.
Max Potion: almost all of our pokemons attacks only costs 1 energy so the discard won't hurt you so much. And it keeps your big ex alive for another turn
Hypnotoxic turns many of landos hammerheads to 2HKO instead of 3HKO with viribank, and getting apokemon asleep is nice too
Dowsing Machine: (I wish that I could run comp search, but I only have this at the moment. Still, it's very good with cards like lysandre to get KOs
Float Stone: (For garbotoxin, can also work as a pseudo switch in certain situations. I'm still not sure if I should run 2 or 3)
Switch: (To retreat stuff for fre, and considering that most of you'r attackers will have a muscle band, I feel that It's a bit better than float stone in this deck. However, with 3x float and 2x switch it may klog a bit...)
Virbank City Gym: I feel that it's much better than the more situational fightning stadium since it's dead in certain matchups and seeing that your opp also can take advantage of it, it just seems not worth to run it over viribank. And laser+viribank is just brutal
Double Colorless Energy: I choose to run 4 since both raichu and mewtwo can benefit from it, and you can also in rare cases, retreat with it by attaching it to a Lucario, etc
Heavily edited to coincide with the rules! Please put your strategy and reasoning in the Strategy place in the list, not actually inside the list itself. Thanks, man! ~Kecleon
