League Location

Let me start this off by saying that my league sucks. We have had a maxiumun of seven players. One of them is mentally handicaped, two of them are annoying seniors/juniors, and one of them lives about an hour away and doesn't want to drive that far every week. That leaves about 3 real players a week, and one of them is me. I think this problem is due to our location: an old comic book store in a bad area of town.

I made this thread because we are going to change locations, but don't know where to go. I have heard about leagues with more than thirty people showing up weekly. That sounds ridiculous! I have been to many tournaments with less people than that. My question to you is, if you go to one of these big leagues, where is it located? Also, how do you advertise your league? I would really appreciate your help in finding a new location for my league.

I have this problem as well. There are a few really good players, but the rest are all either non-commited enough to come consistently, just aren't very interested in learning to get better and become competitive, or both.

I don't know how my league does it, but we set up in embry riddle aeronotical college cafe. It's really nice, airplanes everywhere. I guess a good way to advertise is the old fashion way; posters around luch break areas/at school ect.

We have many people come to my league. It's not 30 people, but enough to where you know everyone and yet, there's a good amount of people. We are located in a comic book store called Wizards Asylum. We are located in an extremely busy area, and there's shops and restraunts all around. We don't really advertise, but we do have an offical Pokemon League poster in the window stating league is every Sunday from 1:00pm-4:00pm. I found out about this league by just searcing Pokemon.com.

My PTO runs a website and there is an email list you can sign-up to be on. His website lists our league locations. We also mention them at Premier Events.

On Saturday we have upwards of 45 people come. I'm dead serious. (We have the best leauge in USA! 2 National Winners and 1 Worlds runner up.)I would just suggest finding another one. If there is none, get some of your friends to play. I'm pretty sure if you hang them up on walls in school you would be considered nerdy.

You could also try advertising your League on Facebook if you have one.
