can I only use energy cards from Set HP up for now??
like can i use double colorless energy or like ANy old spcial energy cards like that????

and CAN i use R enrgy on Darkrai lol??
i mean " dark " is in his name lol
 
You can. in unlimited play though. In any tournament with the modified format, you can only use energies realeased in the holon phantoms set and newer. and that is going to be reduced (by four sets) after the worlds. so just:

Basics
Holon energies
Double rainbow
Delta rainbow
Multi energy
Special metal & dark
Boost
Scramble
 
But after Ex series are no longer in the game, you can't play Boost and Scramble correct? But you can use DRE since it was released in the Pop series?

And what's R Energy? Don't know what it is, but it seems like you're trying to do something else w/ Darkrai like I tried.

I asked if you can use a card that says "Search your deck for a Pokemon with "Dark" in it's card name" to search for Darkrai or Darkrai Lv. X since it does have Dark in it's name..

Though Dark is technically in Darkrai's name, you cannot do so. It has a legitimate reason behind this, but I can't put it into words.

Heal Energy
Call Energy
Recover Energy
DarkMetal Energy

all basic energys are legal
all special energys currently in the HP on format are legal, this includes reprints.
You could use a Team Aqua vs Team Magma Double Rainbow Energy, but you would require a translation because the wording of that card changed.

At the next rotation after worlds, only the following will be legal as of 6/12/08
Fighting
Fire
Grass
Water
Lightning
Psychic
Darkness
Metal
Darkness (special)
Metal (Special)
Call
Health
Recover

When a new energy comes out, that will be legal, and if its a reprint, then all previous versions will become legal*

*Pending a wording change, then translations would be required

For the R energy on a "Dark"rai, you cannot do this.
Dark is a characteristic and R energy searches for that characteristic. now if it said Dark Darkrai then you could attach it.

Oh okay I just wanted to know about energies.
Does anyone know if they are gonna reprint DRE or Egg energy ( scramble )
 
Well since DRE and Scramble have yet to be released in a legal pack (after worlds) and the rotation is in a few months I doubt it'll be reprinted in time. Then again it could possibly be reprinted after the rotation in a POP Pack maybe. But no word on it yet.
 
Yeah But I hope they Keep DRE and SCramble OUT it will actually change up the gameplay mechanic's a bit more.
Which Im actually hoping for cause yesterday I went to a battle roads ( my score was 3 wins 2 losses one of the losses was stupid cause the guy stalled the whole match and cheated ) and I didnt run any DRE or Scramble.
But everyone else was and it was kinda funny.
I really the DRE and Scramble energy cards will stay out.
It really will LIKE the game that much more because I wanna battle someone who doesn't use it...
 
Multi Energy will also be legal--it was re-printed in Mysterious Treasures (I wish that it were an uncommon instead of a rare a la what they did with Darkness and Metal).
 
Yeah I have multi Energies.
They really arent that much of a threat but I KNOW A LOT OF pleyers arent gonna know what to do without there Holons Castforms and DRE lol.
Cause So many people yesterday were loosing because they focused there atrat around getting those out lol..and also because my DECK makes DRE user fail mroe ( kingdra swarm ) so its pretty much - 50 damage lol...
HAHA lol
