sometimes, i see some players play a dual ball, that has a paper on it with great ball, and use them as a great ball. is that legal? if yes, can i use my umbreon as a umbreon Ex? or can you use a copy of a card and use it as a card (for play)

Well... if you play with ur friends and if it's just for fun, or for testing the deck that u want to make, I think that's fine... you have to make an agreement first with your friends of course... but if in official league etc etc, it's ILLEGAL of course...

Of course is not legal.....but if your opponent accept it and play along, then is OK..... However, is not legal in any games.... Is pirated.

I do it to test decks without having the cards, just copy the scan from PB, use word/paint/... to make it the right size , print it, put it in a sleeve together with a cards and voila

but this is illegal on tournaments/league

What you are describing is called a proxy.

It depends on how the proxy is being used. If your are testing out decks that you don't have the cards to build, it is fine as long as your opponent agrees to it (at a league). In the tournament setting, it is not allowed unless the actual card was damaged during the tournament to the point where it would be considered a marked card.

I use to do this with Island Cave....cuz I didn't have any (mind u I do now)

I used to use 2x DBZ cards (they where "Majin hand clap"....cuz it had an Island on it) my opponet didn't mind...

Exactly what every one is saying, if it's just for fun and not a real tourney or league then it's okay as long as the opponent agrees with it. it;s not okay if it is in a real tournament.

Arcanine out.

Docrobot got the word. ' Proxy' is the word describing the 'put the card and pretend it's this' thing.

casual play is alright (just make sure opponent knows beforehand)
sanctioned play is not, sry *sad face* go cry to mama. j/k, but you cannot do this. also, Proxies can ONLY be authorized by the Head Judge for the event.
