Legend of Dragoon... And Let's bring it to the PSN!

For those of you who don't already know, Legend of Dragoon was Sony's contribution to the PSX RPG world. Currently it is not available for purchase through the English PlayStation Network. A petition on Sony's Official site is currently under way to have this title brought to the English PlayStation Network.

That said, I would like to continue this thread as a discussion of this memorable PSX game. At four disks long, rare, pricey, and prone to disk read failures from scratches, this was a challenging game to complete. By modern graphics standards, it's not "impressive", per se, but it still stands out among PSX titles with engaging visuals, unique characters, and a diverse cast.

The game also featured a more interactive kind of turn-based battle system, utilizing "additions", which would add hits or power to attacks. Kinda gimmicky, but I got used to it, and even enjoyed it a bit in that therapeutic repetitive action kind of way (if you know what I'm talking about).

The first time I saw this game, it was being demonstrated at some store that sold video games. I was pretty young at the time, so I don't recall exactly, but I liked what I saw. It wasn't until much later that I found out the game's title and eventually was able to play a copy belonging to a friend of mine.

Anyone else have (hopefully fond) memories of this game?

Your link to the petition doesn't work for me. (It just goes to the main page of the forums) I don't own a PS3, but I'll definitely sign the petition if possible. (I couldn't find it with Google, either, given the huge number of fan-made petitions out there.)

I absolutely loved Legend of Dragoon and I have fond memories of playing it on my PS2. (I still have the game, but don't play it anymore.) What I remember most is the amazing music from the series, which I still listen to on my MP3 player. Since I played it when I was young, I didn't do / collect absolutely everything I could have, so I kinda want to go back and play it again. I'm afraid the disks won't work or I'll damage them somehow, though.

I am necro-ing this thread. Xous and I can't be the only ones who played this. SERIOUSLY YOU GUYS? This game is really, really fun, y'all. It's a bit slow to get going (what RPG isn't?), but once you start learning more complicated Additions (and, well, Meru <3) then it is awesome. Well, awesomer. ALWAYS AWESOME.
